I am at wits end, explosion of voles this year, they have deforested all my iris, some one said to wrap rhizome in chicken wire... I just want to save rhizomes, I want to winterize & then in spring lay a layer of the hardware cloth so the little bastards can't eat the rhizome, but the lil suckers are uncovering & snacking on from the top,... any advice to help save iris...?
voles & iris rhizomes
I dug mine and potted them up to avoid the same problem. Put the remainder in a raised planter. It wasn't practical to wrap a variety of individual bulbs in chicken wire. They eat every kind of lily as well.
