I have a Cajun hibiscus (Nightfire) that is covered in leaves but not growing in height or blooming. It's in a half whiskey barrel planter, Proven Winner soil, gets afternoon sun and current fertilizer is Nelson Plant Food - NutriStar Hibiscus Fertilizer (10-4-12). I'm located in south/central TX. I've read that hibiscus prefer fertilizer with low phosphorus hence choosing a fertilizer with P-4. Also read that the current issue could be due to too much nitrogen so, considering changing fertilizer with a lower N.
