I have a very large Harry Lauders Walking Stick in my front yard. Started from a purchased twig, now It's a good 15 feet tall and wide. It seems like the more I clip it, the faster it grows and in almost pure clay. Apparently, it just loves the spot it's in. Now, it's way out of hand.
My question is, can I cut it down to trunk? Will it still survive? I'm almost ready to cut the whole thing out because it's become so large though beautiful.

We should all have such problems. Since it has plenty of room, not sure why you'd want to do anything, and not sure what you mean by "cut it down to trunk." I would just keep doing what you're doing, maybe a little more of it.
