New Site Update! 12/2/2024

While I appreciate seeing the time stamps on some of the threads they are not everywhere. I am hoping you will be fixing what you consider the home page. I personally would like to be able to configure my home page the way I want - not the way you want it. And I don't think I should have to find forums. I do think all of this is making the site awfully slow. So none of this is an improvement on what we had before this update.

Shaking my head..what a darn mess this entire place is. Why was it changed?????

Linda Kay mentioned a HOME PAGE, I still DO NOT HAVE A HOMEPAGE
NOTHING SHOWING THE FORUMS. So I have to find this thread to make my way to my favorite forum smh.

So in two days it will be a month that DG decided to screw up DG. Now DG might think this is some sort of improvement but I think many of us think it is a huge fail.
The just now is still there to give us no information at all. I have to go to another way to access what I want to see to see actual last post info.

Why don't I have a home page that I want? Again I don't want to see insects every single morning.

Unread Watched Threads - this has to be the most ridiculous thing of all time. And again - if I want to visit a past thread DG has a search option.

Most Recent threads- three of them - another waste of space.

Most Active thread - how would you tell since it just shows just now.

I am finding the site to be so horribly slow. I am guessing that is from all these failed changes. Maybe someone from DG can share the purpose of these failed changes. But I guess with all the heavy lifting no one can share what is going to happen - if anything at all.

And then of course there is the increased spam. Is that what I am paying for? Is this why everything is so slow?

Since you have had to share links to get where we want to go how is this an improvement? For those of us who have paid subscriptions what exactly are we waiting for?

How long do we have to wait for an update of what will be changed? This really has been some really horrid customer service. So what in the world are we all waiting for? I am now thinking this is how DG is going to stay in this state of failed changes.

And over this month I have posted link after link of spam with not one thank you.

Today as I come to DG what exactly is DG going to do to warrant a paid subscription?

Those "watched" threads that show "just now" for me, were from 2005. I guess I don't understand the terminology of "just now". So, now anything that pops up I just click on it and "unwatch" it. Too bad i cannot do that with all that spam crap.

It was so nice when I could start to type in "Dave's Garden", and my "welcome back....blah, blah" would come up, I could click on that and Holy Quick Page, Batman, the FIRST page that would show would be the one that showed new posts on forums I posted on previously. Now I have to click on Communities, then Discussion groups, and then FINALLY, the threads come up. Only to find there are 20 year old ones that show "just now". Please, will SOMEONE tell us the improvement and how this will make our world a little better? I'm the one that always has to know the "WHY" of things.

Pretty sad customer service.

Evidently someone with a lot of money that doesn't care.

So after waiting for over a month what is happening to DG? Some of us would like some information.

So after over a month is this what we are stuck with? How can a company have subscribers and paid subscribers and have no one to respond to comments here? So are those of us who hate this in the minority here? Is anyone there???

Why is DG so damn slow all the time. I have to try several times to get the site to open. Is it because you have the idiotic Unread Watched Forums? Or The most Recent Threads? Or The Most Active Threads? All of these marked by the moronic Just Now. Or maybe it is when you finally find what you are looking for the page opens to a ridiculous number of threads?

Again is there an update or is this what we are stuck with. As some of us think about renewing our paid subscriptions we are all wondering why there is no communication. I don't think any of us thought this crap was going to continue for this long.

SO WHERE IS THE UPDATE ON THIS HIDEOUS UPDATE?

Maybe they are on vacation?

Can someone share with me why it is taking so damn long for DG to open these days?

And can someone tell me what the changes to this horrid "update" will be? And can someone tell me when that will be taking place?

I guess DG is all the way at the bottom of the list of things to do. That must be why no one can address concerns here. So for those of us who are paying for our subscriptions is there a discount for less use of the site?

WE ARE HEADING INTO MONTH 3 OF THIS. THERE HAVE BEEN PROMISES OF FIXES WHICH PART OF A FIX DOESN'T CUT IT. WHY IN THE WORLD ARE THOSE WHO WORK HERE UNABLE TO EXPLAIN WHAT IS GOING ON - OR RATHER WHAT ISN'T GOING ON?

So we are in month number 3 of your so called update. I guess it is too much to ask for an update. I guess I just expect way too much of DG. I have been a paid subscriber since February 2002. I am still finding the site so damn slow. And the just now crap and the lack of any forums when you open the site is idiotic. I recall hearing that the new changes were going to happen shortly and that was months ago.

So as a paid subscriber how is DG going to make this right? I do think I should get some money back from DG for making a mess of the site. Months later I am foolishly thinking someone is going to respond.

I'm thinking they just want us to go away and fade into oblivion.

We are working to bring back some of the features that you miss. These features include watched threads notifications, your contributions tally, D-Mail notifications and more.

These new features will be brought back over the next site updates.

This marvelous "update" is still showing that a thread i am watching has a new post/s when it's the last post and I made it. Can't something be done to fix it? It is annoying as all get-out.

Same thing here. I now refresh the page when I log in.

It is almost April and most of the horrid updates are still there just being a PIA. So when are all these things going to take place? It has been months and months. When is "JUST NOW" going to go away? And when are those idiotic 3 different groups of threads going to be removed? Why can't I make my home page the way I want it? How many times do I have to ask these questions?

Showed up as a "just now" for your post you made here on March 26th, Elsie. I don't think anyone reads this, and if they do, I don't think they care. If they did, they would do something about it. JMHO......

Says on my home page "just now" a post here. It is MY post, that i made A WEEK AGO! Will someone get on the horn and fix this annoying crap that this wonderful update has caused. Is it really asking too much?? Do you hope that we will just roll over and play dead and accept what appears to be incompetence???

Almost 2 weeks.....says "just now" and shows up as what i assume is a new post. IT IS NOT, IT IS MY POST FROM APRIL 11TH. WILL YOU PLEASE FIX THIS NEW AND IMOROVED SITE????. Or don't you care about the frustration level????

TYSON, HOW ABOUT GETTING A LINK FOR FORUMS SO WE DON'T HAVE TO DO A SEARCH FOR THEM!!!

We shouldn't have to do all that, if he would just put it back on the home Page, like it used to be.

And our watched threads that have new posts were there. This is just like new math....40 steps to do the problem I can do in 3 and get the same answer. But they don't care.

Tyson, it would be nice if we could have control over how we want our home page to look like. I have no ide why that was trashed because it was perfect to get it how we wanted it - not how someone at your company wants it. But we are just wasting our time trying to get things to where we want them. Oh and by the way I still cannot just sign on to the site. I have to use a link you sent me. And I agree that I shouldn't have to search for where the forums are!!
