Morning Glories 2024 #03

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Pretty bloom Helena
We lucked out and didn't get much rain from the storms but there were
tornadoes here but not too close.to us. We've already had a record # of tornadoes this season if I remember correctly..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful bloom Helena.
Glad you all didn't get the bad storms.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda.
Glad the storm and tornadoes missed you. It's rare for us to get tornadoes here, too close to the gulf.
Had 2 blooms from. Azuremores mg seeds.First bloom is from same vine as yesterday's bloom

Beautiful variation of the blooms.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Your blooms are beyond gorgeous Helena, especially that 1st one with the lavender stripes. I love the 2nd bloom too.
My 1st bloom opened today but now I;ve lost all my new pics, smh.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I uploaded new pics to the camera and will try again to send pics
My 1st bloom of the season.
I can't enlarge these small icons to see what I'm sending, so I don;t know when they;re blurry.
# 2 is a purple ginger#
3 is pandy on the fence.

Jackie, they are beautiful blooms. Not blurry at all.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie.
Beautiful blooms Jackie. Glad your mgs started blooming.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks ladies. so glad to have a morning glory blooming. That might be the'
one I called feathery blue last year.

Gautier, MS

I have one bloom today from Azuremore seeds. Lavender tint with darker lavender stripes and lime green leaves.
Luna, pink Swirl had 2 blooms too.

Lovely Lavender morning glory Helena. Your Luna Hibiscus is gorgeous and picture
perfect today.
I have a new mg bloom. It's flaked reminding me of my flaked
Pres Bush in 2022
Pandy

Thanks Jackie.
Your blooms are pretty
Nice to see your pandy. I wonder of any of my vines came back. I saw a few last year even if not making blooms.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena. You know one time I wondered if pandy was that hardy and the answer has got to be yes. It has come back after 0 degree nights in winter.here.
I wonder if it;s too warm for pandy in your climate. Did you say you;ve seen it blooming there in your city? If so, your temps have nothing to do with it. It
does like the sun..

Gautier, MS

Yes, I have seen it growing at least in two different places in my town. But it always got mowed by the city so not sure if it is still growing on those stops. The other thing is that I don't always go past it early in the morning to see blooms.
I had 3 blooms this morning but the redish purp was already closing.

They're gorgeous Helena. Love the color on the 1st one and that beautiful lacy
look on the 2nd one
My purp closed early this morning too before I got out there, overslept.
I had one new bloom, a hot pink which is not the real name Looks like the one
Emma Grace was growing and maybe Debra.and Ronnie The hummers had already destroyed
one of the blooms and almost destroyed this one.too.

Edited to say Pink Frost might be the name.

Pretty bloom Jackie. I only get a hummer once in awhile. Most likely a juvie.
It rained last night, no mg blooms for me today.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

My goodness, I love all your beautiful flowers you are posting.
Just found out today, the cataract surgery did not fix my stigmatism, so I will still need glasses. My vision is very clear, but when I went in this morning for my follow up, I couldn't see the small letters on the chart.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda. I think that happened to me too. Only improved my vision a little after
my 1st cataract surgery. It was better after my 2nd surgery but Wal Mart made my glasses too dark, too much tinting.
I had one new bloom (Lite Purple Tie Dye) and a couple of repeat blooms.

Glad your vision is better Linda. Most have to wear reading glasses.
Beautiful blooms Jackie. I had one purpurea bloom, but the pic came out blurry.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda, just now realize you said your vision is better but not your astigmatism.
I had a stint put in today and it was just an awful experience. Was not pain free like
all my other stents.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful blooms Jackie.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena and Linda. I have a darker Purple Tie Dye this morning.
Purps in tub wrong pic I sent
An angel wing Begonia also not the pic of this Begonia I would have chosen.
I can't see what pics I'm sending for sure. Hate this cheap camera.. The file I'm having to send them from, won't let me enlarge them so I can see if I have the right pic highlighted.

Beautiful blooms Jackie. Is that a ginger in the 3rd photo?

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda, yes, I forgot to identify it. It's the purple ginger sitting by the white one.
They're not getting enough sun on my porch. That may be why the pink ginger now blooms purple. That has to be it, lack of sun causing the different coloration. :-)
Its ok though, I love purple.

Beautiful blooms Jackie. Love that purple one.
We are getting more rain these days. Good that I don't have to water my plants and it does cool us down a bit.
I had a pitiful hige bloom but can't post b/ c some how my phone camera changed the jpg setting. I have no idea why.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, thats what happened to me but on my computer settings. I never could figure
it out. I changed the settings, not thinking, and the computer and printer could no longer communicate You might have just hit a button by mistake
# 1 Pink frost looking like Xiong's Chinese
# 2 purps in tub
# 3 The unknown looking like Pres bush flaked but it can't be it has purp buds
with nil leaves. I'll try to get a decent pic but hard with this camera
Something else strange, I have a small
variegated mg coming up in the dirt just past all these in pots. It has a 5 inch bud getting ready to open tomorrow. I can't believe it, a 5 inch bud on a mg with 3 inch leaves. Is this going to be a 10 inch flower? we'll see tomorrow if the hummers don't destroy it early.

Beautiful blooms Jackie. I'm on my computer but it's too slow. I took a picture this morning, I'll have to post it from my phone though. I'll if it went back to normal setting.
Getting too much rain so it ruined the bloom.

Gautier, MS

It's still not working but my son took a screen shot so I could post before he messes with my phone camera setting.

Hope your son gets your settings figured out Helena. I wish things weren;t so
complicated these days.
I did not get my extra large bloom today. It should have opened yesterday but couldn't, probably too dry.
2 hot pinks, one like the 1 that didn't open and a different cultivar.
The large bud that didn;t open.

Beautiful blooms ladies.
Sorry your large bud didn't open. That's a huge bud.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda. the flower would have been huge.. One of the largest buds I've ever seen.

Gautier, MS

Beautiful blooms Jackie. Glad it opened for you.
My bloom from this vine keeps changing but I like it. Son fixed camera setting it's working.

Maybe I need to look up the Kodak user manual on line

I have a Count Dracula open this morning
Purple Tie dye
The unknown purp with nil leaves
one of the hot pinks

I don;t know why those pics are so dull, no pretty color showing. smh
Let's see what these do.
Most all of them looked dark due to their location on the trellis. the light not so good.
edited to say I give up.
Hubby had his surgery Friday to implant his port for dialysis and I had my stent put in Tues.
Now having to fight with this camera., the last thing I feel like doing.

Beautiful blooms Jackie.
Wish he could help you too but yeah I've 3 cameras and I've forgotten how to use them. Use to take pics then download them to my computer. Using the phone is my easier. Do wish I had a bigger one.
We are getting too much rain here.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena, Our rain has eased up but the nicest thing is our temps haven;t hit
90 for 6 days and 80's are still expected here for the next several days. Feels great
to work outside.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful flowers ladies.
Jackie, sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda.
We're both starting to feel better.
