Why are all my tomato plants leaves yellowing from the bottom up. Every year. This year I replenished the soil, added sweet peat organic mulch and planted the tomatoes in another area. It is still happening. Not much flowering for fruit either. I dont feed much nitrogen to them. Help.
tomato plants yellowing
No response to my thread about this every year. Yellowing from bottom up and dying off tomato plants.
You've not shared photos in this post or mentioned fertilizing schedules, soil type or watering regimen. Peat is very low in nutrients across the board. You might be losing lower leaves faster than normal because of low nitrogen. In this case the plant is conserving nitrogen to feed the growing and fruiting end.
Consider sending soil samples to your extension service. They provide packets, instructions and professional advice for a small fee. Some extension services will send an agent or a Master Gardener volunteer to your garden to advise you.
