Hi - I am new to plant ownership and recently bought a Birds of Paradise plant. I've had it for about a month now, and while the plant looks healthy overall from a distance, I've noticed many of the leaves are starting to have small holes in them, and browning around the edges (especially at the tips). It is generally the lower leaves having the largest issues, but even newly opened leaves are starting to have a few very small holes in them. I was hoping someone could offer some advice as to what may be the cause and what i can do to help stop and reverse this trend, please. Thanks!

Could be a lot of different things. Slits in the leaves is actually a natural adaption that can come through sometimes so it could be that.
If it's not, at first glance it looks to me like maybe a crown borer could also be leaving these holes. If that's the case then try having them less exposed (ideally even indoors) during the peak of the summer. If you'd rather leave them out you can always just remove the damaged leaves.
It could be neither of these, hard to tell from some pictures but that's my 2 cents haha.
My best advice would honestly be to have a local landscaper take a look and see what they think, they're likely more familiar with the area and pests or other issues that may be affecting the plants. I've had a lot of success with these guys if you're in the east bay area like me: https://www.landscapingfremont.com/
