Looks like a landscaping worker accidentally took a Weed Wacker to my returning Black Eyed Susan. There are still some leaves and stems that are near ground level. Is there any hope that the Goldsturm can return this year? Should I chalk this year up to experience (put up markers to identify desirable plants) and look forward to its return next spring? Or should I expect that this plant won't be coming back ever?
Pruned too soon
