Morning Glories 2021 #02

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda. If they improve my vision just a little, I will be so happy. I'm not expecting a big improvement I get so upset when i think of how my old Dr said
it would not help me to get stronger lenses. Really?

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

My Peaches and Cream Brug opened a couple of nights ago. It should turn a
peachy color but has not even started to turn yet, great fragrance on this one

That is beautiful.
I love watching them turn colors.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda. It is fun to watch them change, Enjoy it when our mg;s turn colors too.

Gautier, MS

Hope your new glasses improve your vision Jackie. Glad you have a new dr.
Pretty bruhg. Hope you get a nice scent from it.
Well, finally my first purp opened this morning on this windy and cold morning. It's 52 degrees and it feels cold with this wind. Posting 2 pics of same bloom cuz don't know if one is blurry. Also I direct sowed seeds of flying saucer and others and they are sprouting.

Pretty purp blooms Helena. I would love to direct sew some mg sds but
we have sub freezing temps coming tonight. Not to mention I'm having trouble finding time to start any seeds. Cold here yesterday and today, we will start warming back up
in a day or two.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So glad you have your first bloom Helena.
It is beautiful.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda.
I have a plain milky way bloom this morning. A few pics of my azaleas and wild rose putting on a show.

Oh my! Look at all the beautiful flowers.
Our plants and trees are way behind this year, due to the freeze we had mid Feb.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Love your pretty Azaleas, wild Rose and Milky Way Helena. Beautiful colors on'your Azaleas. I don't have Azaleas at this house, I miss the ones I grew at my old house.
The Pyrethrin spray I used on my Brugs with the unknown bugs may not be working. My brugs are losing more leaves I may have to find some Malathion.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope you find something that works.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Me too Linda. I can set them outside soon, maybe the rain will help
wash the bugs off.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda. Hope you get rid of those bugs Jackie. I would be taking the plant outside and hosing it off. The color temps might help to get rid of them too at least during the day.
I had 3 purps blooms, I thim all 3 are milky way. I like the one with lots of color.

Helena, I thought about taking my Brugs out and hosing them off but, all of them have sunk their roots into the floor of the greenhouse. Very hard for me to pull hard enough to pull up the roots and all. I will have to soon as It will get so hot all my plants will have to come out Maybe I can get my dgs to come over and help.
Helena,. beautiful puirps, that 1st one is like a Joyce Cobb varient or the one that looks similar, Wish I could remember its name. So happy you;re getting these lovely blooms. .

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful blooms Helena.
Jackie, I hope you can get help with your plants.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda, If I have to, I will pay my gs to help me. He always needs the money,.:-)

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda. Jackie that bloom came from a mix of seeds from 2016. I wish they were Joyce Cobb.
Two blooms today, 2 cactuses I bought for a arm and a leg and a monarch butterfly laying eggs on new milkweed plants. Don't ever remember seeing monarchs this early..

Thanks Jackie and Linda.
Glad your ok Jackie. I started to worry a bit, thought maybe it was computer problem.
Hoping nothing serious.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, ok here. Sometimes I get up to let someone else use my computer and
end up losing my posts.
I got my new glasses yesterday. They tinted them awfully dark but it did not hurt my visioin driving at night. So happy to be able to see better.
Another Brug opened, a pink. This one came from Farmers Market last summer.
Ochracea was eat up with bugs so I cut her all the way back. I doubt if she will set any more buds but at least her new growth is pretty much bug free...

Beautiful pink brug Jackie. Sorry you had to cut the other one back so far. Sometimes that is needed. Praying it grows quickly for you.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda,'
The ochracea is putting out lots of new growth. I found a few seed pods on her before I cut it back

Gautier, MS

Beautiful brug Jackie. Your ochracea looks really good and I bet you will still get blooms from it later on this year. I'm glad you can see better with your new glasses.
My vines had 5 different blooms this morning opened with the rain. Having sunshine now.

Gorgeous purps Helena.
Yes I should get ochracea blooms this fall and winter.
Helena, I got 15 mg's sds planted today. should have started them a couple of weeks ago, just couldn't get it done. I'll try to start a few more tomorrow..

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie. I'm glad to hear you got some mgs seeds started. Hope you get to do some more.
I have mg seedlings of IP nils from azuremores seeds mostly b/c they were getting old. So afraid a lot didn't germinate.
Well, my bloo.s today got pounded by the rain even though they are next to the house so no pics. I took a pic yesterday of my peaches and cream grevillea bloom I bought last year from almost eden. Glad I can grow this one, most are grown in CA. And my giant milkweed blooming too.

Helena your Grevillea bloom. Is a beauty. It's an impressive bloom. Love your giant milkweed bloom too.
I hope your nils germinate. I should have planted some of my oldest seeds too just to aee if they are still good. I'm thinking about just throwing them out where I start my purps in the ground and see if they germinate

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Helena, I love those blooms. They are so pretty.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda. I'm doing that too Jackie. But I also bought some purps that I soaked and scattered them along fence and let them go wild I hope. We do have some pretty old seeds but mine are proving not to be viable.
I had 10 mg blooms today, even with heavy rain they didn't get damaged next to the house this time. The grevillea showed the peach color after couple of days. And I'm having quite a few hummers chasing each other around the yard.

Beautiful purp blooms Helena.. I love the peach color your Grevillea is turning.
Helena I have so many old seeds because there was no way I could plant all of them.
I'm trying to clear along the fence where my pandy comes up I need to cut some of its lead stems to keep it from getting so dense. No wonder its getting mildew the last few years. So much growth its overlapping over and over with no air getting thru.

Blooms from Aug 2013

I love all those beautiful blooms ladies. Thanks for posting them.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

You're welcome Linda
Now I'm worried about the seeds I planted Thursday. Seems like at least 1 or 2 should have germinated by now but not a one, I'll replant in a day or two if nothing sprouts
by then..

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda.
Beautiful blooms Jackie. Hope your seeds sprout or start some more.
All my blooms were dark color except one.

Gorgeous dark blooms Helena. the Milky Way is nice too.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Jackie.
So now I'm starting a new project-hobby, I found a swallowtail Caterpillar yesterday on my lemon tree and today another baby and am going to raise them. Along side with my monarch caterpillars.
Blooms from today

Wonderful blooms Helena. Love the showy hige. Don't recognize the last bloom, is it a Clematis?? You're very good at raising butterfly's Helena, so I know you'll do a good job with the swallowtails.
Finally about 8 of my mg seeds have germinated
