Can anyone help me ID this tree/bush/shrub growing wild in a neighborhood park? I have never seen leaves grow from "pods" before. Zipcode 75082
Thank you,
Marty
Looking to ID this tree in North Texas
I expect the round ball to be a plant gall, caused by insect activity.
Marty: look at answer posted in the Plant Identification forum.
Agree with gall, created by the plant in reaction to activity caused by insects, on a Common Hackberry - Celtis occidentalis.
Yep, gall! :)
