Yesterday my daughter was in the back southeast corner of our yard and our backyard neighbors yard maintenance person, possibly an arborist I don't know told her more or less, " Tell your Mom to pull out this nightshade so it doesn't do anymore damage to this tree." The neighbor's tree in question is some sort of cherry and she has been sickly for a few years. I kept meaning to pull the nightshade, so had no issue being reminded that it was time to get that chore done. But I didn't know that nightshade could harm a tree. Is this possible? I think maybe the tree just doesn't like the shed we put in a few years ago, causing to much shade. Has anyone ever had experience with nightshade killing a tree?
Thanks!
I didn't think to take photos until after I pulled the nightshade. 2-4 branches reached the top of the fence, peeking over by less then 6 inches.
