We have an area in our garden where we have "silver" lamium growing. It appeared beautifully in spring and flowered into early summer and grew in carpet-like patches bout 18-inches across. Bit it has now lost all its vigor and almost looks like it's about to disappear altogether. I want to save it if possible but I'm baffled as to the cause so I don't know which measure to take to save it from further damage. We have other areas where this same kind of Lamium is doing very well. Can anyone identify from the photos what a cause of this might be...Thanks.

Lamium Angst
Almost looks like it has been weed-whacked.
No, that definitely isn't the problem. It started when it large blooms started turning dry and brown and then the problem extended into the shoots and the leaves shrank to the point that it is now. Some of the "shoots" still are green and there are leaves on them but the leaves are smaller than normal. Some leaves have notches and I don't know if that's part of the problem or a distinct issue of its own.

Dig it up and put it in a pot. Move it to some shade to see if it comes back over a couple of weeks. Other than that, it looks like you are facing an uphill battle.
I'm going to give that a try...the area where this is a problem is very hot and dry. I've watered regularly but I think the earth is too shallow (over bedrock) and so it dries very fast...to fast for me to keep up with. THANKS!
Mine kind of always turn to crap at this time of year ! I dont know if it's the heat of mid summer or what. I plant other summer bloomers around them to cover it up and they always come back beautiful and vigorous in spring again:)
