What's Your Favorite Christmas Carol???

Decatur, IN(Zone 5a)

'Oh Holy Night' for me. The singer makes a big difference. I love it when the singer sticks to the traditional way of singing it instead of singing it as if they were Christina Aguilera with all the wo wo wooo's added on. When the right person sings it, I get goose bumps.

Have you all heard that new song playing on the radio lately, 'Christmas Shoes'? Does anyone know who sings it....its very touching.

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

It is done by Newsong

If you have never heard this one folks-grab a kleenex

It was almost Christmas time,
there I stood in another line.
Trying to buy that last gift or two,
not really in the christmas mood.
Standing right in front of me,
was a little boy waiting anxiously.
Pacing round like little boys do,
and in his hand he held a pair of shoes.
And his clothes were worn and old,
he was dirty from head to toe.
But when it came his time to pay,
I couldnt believe what I heard him say.

Sir, I wanna buy these shoes,
for my mama please.
Its christmas eve,
and these shoes are just her size.
Could you hurry sir,
daddy says there not much time.
You see she's been sick for quite a while,
and I know these shoes will make her smile.
And I want her to look beautiful,
if mama meets Jesus tonight.

They counted pennys for what seemed like years,
the casheer said son theres not enough here.
He searched his pockets frantically,
then he turned and he looked at me.
He said mama met christmas good in our hearts though,
Most years she just did with out.
tell me sir what am I gonna do,
Some how I've gotta buy her these christmas shoes.
So I laid the money down,
I just had to help him out.
And I'll never forget the look on his face,
when he said mama's gonna look so great.

Sir, I wanna buy these shoes,
for my mama please.
Its christmas eve,
and these shoes are just her size.
Could you hurry sir,
daddy says there not much time.
You see she's been sick for quite a while,
and I know these shoes will make her smile.
And I want her to look beautiful,
if mama meets Jesus tonight.

I knew I caught a glimce of heavens love,
as he thanked me and ran out.
I knew that God had sent that little boy,
to remind me what Christmas is all about.

Sir, I wanna buy these shoes,
for my mama please.
Its christmas eve,
and these shoes are just her size.
Could you hurry sir,
daddy says there not much time.
You see she's been sick for quite a while,
and I know these shoes will make her smile.
And I want her to look beautiful,
if mama meets Jesus tonight.

I want her to look beautiful,
If mama meets Jesus Tonight.

Frogs, I know that story. Didn't know anyone had set it to music. I have no radio here nor in my truck so I miss a lot.

The Heart of Texas, TX(Zone 8b)

I love them all and just can't get into the spirit without Christmas music.
"Mary, Did You Know" always makes me cry and sends chills down my spine. The words are very touching.

Silent Night and Frosty are probable next...

My favourite is "Mary, Did You Know". I recently heard Clay Aiken singing it off his new CD and it was just beautiful.
