Camilla transplant

My mother-in-law has the prettiest Camilla trees growing in her yard and I would very much like to transplant into mine. Could someone please advise me what is the best way to root from a cutting? Or, any other way for that matter. I tried with no success.

My Camellias (not Camilla like the Duchess of Cornwall) often have seedlings coming up around the mother plant. See if you can find some and dig enough of the root ball for a successful transplant. As for cuttings, I would look for a video or a website that shows how to do this. I would think a small hardwood cutting should be fairly easy.

I found this website that I would like to try this year (for most hardwood cuttings). I don't understand the need for a mallet and a sharp knife though (why not a good set of pruners?)
