A few years ago I built raised garden beds using some old oak fence boards and filled them with soil I found on my property. Recently, the boxes have busted at their seams, as seen in the photos. I think this was due to the soil having a significant clay content and not draining well in the winter. Also, the corner posts rotted on me. I don't recall what type of wood they were, possibly just 1x1 pine. Nothing rot resistant.
I intend to rebuild my garden. Any thoughts on materials would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone used trex decking boards?
Thanks, Will
