What is wrong with my rubber tree plant?

East Greenwich, RI

Hello all. I could use some help with figuring out what is wrong with my burgundy rubber plant. I purchased it about 3 weeks ago or so from home Depot. I have repotted into terracotta pot about 2 weeks ago. The new leaves seem to be drying out. I made my own potting mix consisting of 60% coconut coir, 20% pumice and 20% worm casting. I have a water meter and do not water until the water meter reads very dry. I am think that this is just not getting enough light. I just moved her next to my south facing slider door. I am hoping this will help but this is my first rubber plant and I really want to keep her alive! Here are some pictures.

The potting mix you used seems like it will dry the roots fast. I wouldn't let your plant get to dry but does not like setting in wet either. Another thing to look for which seems hard to imagine but I used worm castings in my potted tomatoes once and there where worms that came along with it. The worms seemed to effect the roots of my plants until I changed the soil. Rubber trees do well in partial shade.

Gardenworm2 thanks for the heads up on possible worms in the worm casting. I will be sure to look through my bag carefully I didn't notice any when I was mixing up potting soil but I wasn't looking for them either. it's a dreary rainy day here so I left the rubber tree plant in front of my slider hopefully she'll get some more sun I really hope that I can figure it out cuz she's beautiful and I don't want her to die 😭
