Hi,
This is a fungal rot- possibly white rot???
Starts as a small discolouration on the medium cabbage head and spreads, leading to the whole head dissolving into a black squishy mesh.
I will be treating with aerated compost teas from the seedling stage and see if this prevents.
I'm interested in exactly what fungus it is from an academic standpoint. An ID would be most interesting and appreciated.
