Giant Agapanthus

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Can anyone tell me where I might find giant agapanthus? Either bulbs or plants. Last year I saw one at the local nursury and it was beautiful but it cost $30.00 and I thought that was too much, but I am going back this Spring and will be glad to pay it cause I cannot find it. I have talked to several nursuries and they put my name on a list but I haven't heard from anybody. I got a lot of agapanthus seeds, ( I really like this plant) but then I found out it takes THREE YEARS to bloom. But my seeds are not the giant kind - it would be worth the wait. Anyhow I am going to plant my seeds but put something else in with them so I wont's wear them out waiting for them to bloom.

What does it look like? Latin name?

Oops, the Latin part is there. Need to wakeup.

roz, more info...agapanthus(which one?)africanus 'Queeen Anne'/'Blue'/'Albus'/'Elaine pp##7303'/ or 'Ellamae pp#7297 or none of the above..:)

It's not africanus or orientalis, but the fronds are about 3 feet long and bright blue blooms come up maybe 4 feet tall. I haven't been able to find out much about the giant variety.

If I had to guess, I'd guess it's A. praecox 'Blue Giant' - here's a description: http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/plants/plantdisplay.shtml?plantId=3551

Not sure where you can buy it; from the search I did, I found most references to it were from UK and Germany.
