It looked like a baby marigold from my MiL’s garden. But....it’s definitely not! I’ve let it keep growing to see if it blooms but it hasn’t yet. What is it??

It does indeed look like a marigold. Probably a seedling from a hybrid that has reverted to more of a wild/species type. Let it grow and it should eventually flower.
Thank you! I did a little research and it looks like it may be Mexican marigold. The tallest marigolds I’ve ever seen. One must be close to 3 feet tall!!
