Not sure if this is the right category to post this in, but my garden pest is a hungry rabbit. I was told they probably wouldn't eat Dutchman's Breeches, but lo and behold, it ate them up today. I had just planted the bulbs in the fall, and some had bloomed and others hadn't really grown very big yet before this happened. My questions are: Am I likely to lose these plants since the rabbits ate the foliage so early on? Is there anything I can do for them before next year's blooming season? Is there anything aside from unsightly chicken wire that will keep the bunnies away from them? (Bunny gobbled up all my crocus flowers this year, too, but the foliage came back.)
