Hello! I recently bought a new house and am excited to start gardening. I'm running into some issues finding plants that will thrive in my flower beds. My house faces SW, but I have some very large trees around my property and on neighboring properties. This means most areas of the yard are either getting shade from the house or shade from trees. I would love to plant hydrangeas along the front of the house, but I'm not sure if it will work. It gets 3-4 hours of mid-day sun before the trees cast a shadow in the afternoon. I've always read they should have morning sun. Also, I live along the coast so we have fairly sandy soil. Any suggestions?
