Summer cover crop

I'm considering using a summer cover crop mix (peas, millet, oats, flax, sunflowers, radish and hemp) as mulch between rows and around crops in my home vegetable garden this summer instead of straw this summer and wonder if I need worry about it competing for nutrients? Primarily the tomatoes and beans.

Familiar with companion planting but was looking at ways to improve soil composition when not in use between plantings. Interesting video though; Thanks
