Plant propagation the Basics March 2018

Fort Worth, TX

so the baby peach trees my bees propagated, when the tree split a few years ago, up high, well above the graft, have gotten to be trees. and one has fruit. right now. and the peach tree it came from has fuzzy fruit. The baby tree has shiny fruit. I'm thinking nectarine, there are mexican plum trees around. Anyone have a clue? Looks like a peach tree, pink blooms.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

Ruellia here is fairly easy, so much sand just pull it up. The SEEDS are forever. I got rid of the dwarf ones where I am putting gold lantana. I have to go scrounge some rocks to replace the 15 yr old landscape timbers, but tomorro is a good day for that since my calendar says "plow" anyway. Everything but a place for the peppermint and mojita mint. The tomatoes may have just sunburned, so keeping fingers crossed. I need to move that variegated ginger too, while I have it exposed. I did pick up a start of black and blue salvia. Puttin it near a clump of lantana too, now to cross fingers my luck holds and I don't kill too many things, chuckl. Am on thinkpad so no pix.
Gypsi, I have NO CLUE. Maybe just a peach?

Brought home my beautiful rooster to breed the hens and he behaved for 3 days, saving fertile eggs because I think he will
have to be Sunday dinner for my yard to be safe for humans,, he is gorgeous but mean. Broom Jousting isn't keeping him in check

Winter Springs, FL(Zone 9b)

Looking good Gypsi and Kitt

Kitt my tomato plant started doing the same thing when it kept going from inside to bright sun outside and then so many nights in the 40'. Still produced tomatoes okay.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

Gypsi! You have to ALPHA him. Very simple to do and kids can do it to, see if I can find that story....

Fort Worth, TX

I have alpha-ed, so I need that trick really fast. He's pretty darn mean. Evil since his hatching, but he sure is pretty. I would like to alpha him but I would not like a grandchild to be seriously injured by him. I have 2 and 3 year old grands.

That columbine is something special. White morning glory or moonflower? I have so many blooms and no time to upload. taking photos, upload is the time consuming thing. but will try. Apparently I'm not taking photos. found a rosebud, my garden, tomatoes in buckets around the onions raised bed, and the pond we cleaned last saturday.

Kitt I was thinking the same Columbine is really nice , I enjoy that Coreopsis and lily also

Gypsi Nice Rose , gorgeous Pond !!!

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

We let the lanceleaf coreopsis flower, it is just pretty. Morning glory, Gypsi. I really like Columbine so I splurged on one, glad I did even if it isn't appreciated by my daughter. Chuckl. I have a litter bucket I need to prep and seed something in...

Winter Springs, FL(Zone 9b)

All beautiful blooms, I especially like the Daffodils and Columbine, neither can take our heat here.

Fort Worth, TX

I drill the buckets about 2 inches above the bottom, put
Limestone pebbles in bottom inch then landscape fabric below the dirt, I mix my soil, black velvet topsoil with my chunky pond lily compost, sprinkle eggshells on top.

This is a new recipe, last year was cheaper topsoil with potting mix, hoping to get a better tomato harvest.

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Kitt Lanceleaf coreopsis gets to grow at random here , likes the dry hot weather , so far it might not do as well this year here ,

Gypsi I just started my tomato seeds ,

This is a wild invasive violet ? Called a Carolina violet a water weed

Don't think that's dollar weed like we have...Joes leaves are thicker and fleshier, and if memory serves that's a bog type plant he has...

Fort Worth, TX

Dollar weed is a bog type plant, at least the kind I pull out of ponds, but it doesn't seem to bloom

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Gypsi That has several names , I will see if I can look up it's name again when i get the minutes , it did not bloom last year , Temperatures like these 70 or 80 to right around 29 or 30 at night causes it to bloom , It's an odd thing ,

Fort Worth, TX

Ju, I started with one 4 inch pot and I now have about 2 feet of it, is that right for a Happy Campanula?

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Winter Springs, FL(Zone 9b)

Ju, you're keeping busy. Composting interesting.
Gypsi, delicious looking berries, and nice looking blooms.
Debra, hope you had a nice trip, I've been known to ask hubs to take pics of blooms and send them to me when I'm away.
With more rains and humidity, I'm getting cuttings of new growth to propagate, mostly to give away and swap with other local garden friends.

Yes they did mess around, new web page when you sign in too. Spoke too soon, the mater blooms are actually setting fruit now. I shouldnt dust them when the dew is still on them. Parsley bolting, must have been 2nd yr starts. Layering the lantana. I cut this one from its parent 2 days before replanting in a new spot, it isn't struggling as much as the small one I didnt wait to move. I have to find trellis for some morning glories before it is too late...

ok pictures. Peonies bloomed, well 2 out of 3, the 3rd is taking longer, may need watered.
Peonies, my newest pond graced by a Queen Elizabeth rose in bloom, Mystery plant in my helper's yard, with my hand for perspective.
Peach trees from fruit of the same tree, one is purple and shiny, the other is fuzzy. The bees did this, fruit unripe, no idea what I'm gonna get.

awww gosh, beautiful colors. I am so glad to have gotten this eye thing done, hoping the bleeding will stop so I can see better now. *sigh* Joe got the beans planted and will buy the tomatoe plants and get them in for me this year. so glad he is willing to do all that. My snow ball bush has about ten snowballs and I am so excited. I will take pics as soon as I can focus well enough again. Ju, your little babies are so cute!
Alice, seems like your Gardens have been 6 weeks ahead of mine all year. Wish I had a peach tree again.
Kitt, I actually got to plant a tomatoe in a container for my sis and her hubby, it was a big plant with blooms and maters already growing, called "megabyte" I also got three herbs from H E B and put them in a container for her to cook with. That was fun. Most of the time I was as cold there as I was home >.. LOL lookie at my buckeye, my red lonicera and the other few colors going on right now..
