Need advice on container garden

I am a lover of plants. I have a great garden in my house. I am trying to get new plants every day. I am open to all the new ideas in gardening. Only recently I heard about setting up a garden inside a storage container and instantly I fell in love with the idea. But online research was not enough to clear most of my doubts about this. How can you make up for not getting sunlight? Can all kinds of plants be grown inside a container? I live near a shipping container company in Edmonton. Do I need to ask for a specific type of container for my garden?
