What is hurting my begonia? And how to get rid of it? I spray it wth stuff form Home depot or Ace but it keeps coming back. It propagates well from cuttings so i'm thinking of making cuttings, soak them in water that has fungicide dissolved in it, then repot them in completely new pot and soil. What do you think? What is the most effective fungicide? I don't want "green" or "organic", tried them all, want "effective".
Begonia fungal infection
Looks like powdery mildew. I always tossed mine if it got bad. Some begonias are very prone to it. This article might help.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I can't chuck this one because this is the only specimen I have ever seen of this plant and it has sentimental value. I will look for silicon for plants.
Maybe if you keep it out of humidity, do not get the leaves wet, and maybe give it a bit more sun it may help. It spreads by spores so you need to make the plant and the plant's environment inhospitable to mildew. Some people say pick off all infected leaves and leave no debris on top of the soil.
I have used Neem oil but did not keep it up so I cannot tell you it works.
Good luck!
