Could someone please help me identify what's going on with my boxwoods ?
This has been slowly progressing for some time as in 1 year.
boxwoods dying !!!!!!
I am sorry to tell you that this is boxwood blight. I'm a master gardener and our extension put out a warning for this earlier in the year.
It is very recent, and there are unfortunately no real strategies for it yet. nd there is no cure. You would have to apply funicide to absolutely every leaf surface.
Here are two articles that will give you more information:
http://www.bettyongardening.com/gardening-articles/boxwood-blight-how-to-recognize-it-and-what-to-do-about-it/
http://www.ct.gov/caes/lib/caes/documents/publications/fact_sheets/plant_pathology_and_ecology/boxwood_blight-_a_new_disease_for_connecticut_and_the_u.s.__12-08-11.pdf
But, essentially, you need to remove them and avoid planting any member of the boxwood family.
I am sorry that I don't have better news.
