Beautiful blooms Debra.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena, 15 lbs lost n 6 days yea!! There needs to be an upside to this surgery
and thats it.Hey now, don't everyone go getting gall bladder surgery just to lose some weight. lol.

Gautier, MS

Jackie that is a lot of weight to loose in 6 days. Glad your feeling ok.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Checking in b4 i go to bed. Helena. I couldn't have lost that much on my own in 2 or 3 weeks.
DH fixed home made stew for dinner. If keep eating like that, i'll be putting on weight
instead of loosing. I just needed some energy and its good to be able to taste my food again.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I agree, that is a lot of weight to lose so quickly.
Please take care of yourself.

Gautier, MS

Your hubby is doing good Jackie. Beef stew is a great winter food to enjoy.
It's good we can get the energy from food we eat.

Bloom from 2013, I think.

Thanks Linda and Helena.
Had scrambled eggs with melted cheese for breakfast. How
good it tasted. No cokes, still drinking lots of gator ade since it'hydrates so well.]
Hoping I can still lose another 15 lbs, I need to in the worst way.

Beautiful pink bloom Helena,.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

hope your day yesterday was one of good weather. We had a record high here. 71
I didn't get out, tho. Hope your energy level is returning, Jackie. The kids to the north have left to go back to New York to get Hadley's cancer scans. I am hoping they will not encounter too much protest stuff and are able to get a Taxi or Uber ride around. I guess the taxi drivers were all on strike because of the immigration thing. don't want to talk about politics, but please keep Hadley in your heart of positive thoughts. I'm helping with the dogs. Beautiful pink bloom, Helena. Hay Linda, Love the new "do"you have! Happy Blooms for the day downstairs.

Very cold here today Helena. My weight loss all but gone, so disappointed.
Just 5 lbs kept off Nurse told me to get off the gator ade but guess I;m just making up for lost time,.Will try again. smh

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

You are right it is a hibiscus. It is called poodle for some reason. Love the great fugi? bloom. Hope to see more of those. Helena it looks like Spring there. Joe told me 6 ,more weeks of winter? ugh. It is 27 out right now. Jackie, I am just glad you are feeling well enough to worry about your weight lost or found. :D
Those vines and cots look so nice Helena. Do I see a baby moon vine on one of those?

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

lol Deb, thank you. About 27 here tonight too.

Gautier, MS

Thanks ladies. I'm afraid we probably will still get some cold weather here. Today it's foggy and gray but not cold.
Debra, I don't think I started any moon vines. I did start some higes but can't be sure what they will turn out to be.

Hello Everyone! ~ This year I am going to grow 'Picotee Blue' morning glories.
Just got my seeds yesterday! So very anxious for April to arrive so I can get them started. Our local Gardening Club here in town is coming on June 15 for a tour so I'm hoping to have some P.Blue blooming on our Pergola by then. Fingers crossed!
Anyone else ever grown this variety? Any info welcomed!
This will be my first year growing this particular morning glory, so this is not my pic.

That is a beautiful morning glory. You can start them now inside, so you can be sure to have blooms by June.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I agree, you can start those in plastic water bottles with some potting mix, and they fit perfectly on a window sill. I grew those a few years back, they were pretty, but not as rambunctious as I'd have liked.
I bet yours will be gorgeous! This is a old pic, early morning with flash. Not the same in sunlight, that's for sure.
Pics 3,4 ad 5 are from 2014.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I'm sure we will, we morning glory lovers can't go without too many days without a beautiful cheerful trumpet to wake up our souls of hopes and dreams. The sun is shining, I was so tired I slept until noon. Fuji from 2015, A BLUE from 2014,lite blue from 2015,some blue and whites from 2014,and another "fuji"? from 2014

Grannyh, Kikyo blooms are really pretty. Hope you get lots of blooms.

Gorgeous blooms Debra. Well, I hope my mgs start to grow fast. I just transplanted 15 or more of my seedlings into bigger Styrofoam cups. All I have to make sure they stay warm at night, the sun will due it's job during the day. Beautiful day here!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Beautiful Fuji's Debra. # 2 looks like Fuji no Monet, so pretty, # 4 is gorgeous and
# 5 is very pretty with unusual markings. I like all of em.
Helena, glad you are getting lots of potting up done. Looking forward to those blooms.'Warmer here today but no sun,

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Do you ladies keep your morning glories in cups, or do you eventually put them in pots? What size?

Gautier, MS

I will probably transplant mine into bigger pots or into the ground depending on how special or plain the blooms turn out to be. I could leave them in these mostly 24 oz cups. They already had good root filing the cups. The pots will have to be over 2 gallons since they are taller.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I transplant mine into tall 6 inch pots, my final size, which is about the same as the 1 gallon size.
So even Helena and i don;t grow quite the same.way. You need to find what works'best for you. Helena feeds her and gets great results. i just don;t have time
and still get quite a few blooms. Mine don;t get much sun either.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Had 1 bloom in the g house this morning. An Aogakiyama x Choc silk. Happy to
find any blooms. # 2 was a Weird Saz with split blue petals a few weeks ago.

Jackie, those are beautiful.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda. Just happy to have any blooms even if they are deformed.
Better growing ahead hopefully.

Gautier, MS

Beautiful Jackie, Nice to see that they bloomed for you. I'm looking forward to when mine bloom too.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, my vines and blooms are rather pitiful. Your vines look much healthier
so will make nice blooms for you. I'll try again in the spring. I can say
my winter growing was a complete failure. If I had started them in August, I'would have had much better results.

Gautier, MS

Sometimes it's a guessing games when to start mgs. I thought if I start some in fall I'd have them blooming in winter but it didn't happen. I only had one vine for the winter in my gh. When I had to put my seedlings there, a couple of cold nights I didn't have my heat lamps on. I did the same the last 2 cold nights. It does warm up during the day though. We'll see how they do, I'm already seeing bugs on some of my tropical plants. Put them outside and spraying them down with the water hose.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, You mentioning bugs reminds me I saw whiteflies on 2 baby tropicals. I have good luck spraying the whiteflies on the underside of my plants with listerine so ill try to do that today.
