Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Glad you;re going to help your neighbor with his dog Debra.
He's going to need all the help he can get
Beautiful blooms, love the pretty F.S. and the purp.
Great color on your 4 o'clock.
Pretty sure my white bloom is a purp It has heart shaped lvs.

Gautier, MS

Thanks ladies. Yes, I think 2014 was a good year for mg blooms for me. I finished my list of 20 favorites mgs, actually there's a couple of similar bloom's that I'm going to grow together in my biggest pots.
Jackie, glad your getting help from dh on your gh. Glad you got to transplant and collect seeds. Weather has been nice here too to be outside.
Beautiful blooms from the past year Debra, love all the colors of your blooms. Glad you're helping your neighbor out with his dog too. I'm raising my two adopted grandson's and I have my two year old great grandbaby with me while her mommy and grandmom work. She keeps me company.
I only have purps blooming now and star FS.

Beautiful blooms from the past year Debra, love all those colors.

Gorgeous blooms this morning Helena. Your Blue Star/Flying Saucer bloom is to die for. Is # 3 Oriheme or Jamie Lynn or neither?? Love your # 4 bloom.

I;m changing my mind on my white bloom Debra. On closer inspection,'the lvs are tiny as is the bloom so I think it could be one of the invasive bindweeds.

By Saturday morning, temps here will be in the 70's for highs and raining, running'out of time to get my g house plastic up.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I think your blooms are still kicking out loveliness.. the color blocks are awesome and that one bloom Jackie mentioned looks like mother of pearl. or maybe opal I love it. Jackie, I am staying positive for you that you will get ur greenhouse up in time.. ;D

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Debra. We got the 1st cover on this evening. A 25 ft long'by 20 ft wide
piece. Now Dh can line the inside of the g house to create my dead air space
to act as a barrier. I know 70 isn't cold but the nights will be in the 40's with a cold rain,. This time of yr, the 1st freeze can arrive any time.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful blooms Helena, I had no idea you were raising young ones. A full time job for sure.

Gautier, MS

Thanks ladies. Glad you got the cover for your green house Jackie.

Linda, seems kids has been my life's calling. They come first before anything else.

I did get a couple of hours free to work outside today. Watered my plants, collected seeds. Cleaned one side of yard off all pots. Even repotted some of my seedlings.
It tired me out, but I'm ok now.

Jackie, I think this first vine is same as yours mile a minute. I bought it from Ebay as Split Second, started it late but I see it's growing fast now.

Helena, that 1st bloom is Split Second, a lovely hige. Mile a Minute is a species I'm pretty sure but can't recall the species name right now, Your other blooms are lovely too.
I hate it that I cant enlarge any of the pics after I start my msg without losing all of
what I've typed.

Red Mandavilla
A pretty Begonia but weak stemmed
My white mg
Sounds like you got a lot accomplished Helena, I;m still tired from helping DH
yesterday with the plastic,..I'll start again tomorrow,.

Thanks Jackie. If I get a nice bloom from a nil it's a bonus. I'm just waiting for a few vines to ripen the last seeds.

Love your beautiful blue mg Jackie and pretty cardinal vine? I never get to grow those.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

so glad I popped in to see you all. beautiful hige and the blue and whites are very pretty. I am glad your days are full of helping with children ... we need more people like you, Helena. Jackie, I swear I learn more about computors here than I do gardening LOL

i have not grown the red star for a few years, those are so very special. Mile a minute i think is called tie vine also, i used to think that was what messina creeper was, but in PF it shows a different leaf. I don't care their names... keep posting pretty blooms so I can enjoy those sights. :D

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena. they've taken rain out of our forecast so I can relax about getting most of my plants back in the green house,. I still need to hurry but not at breakneck speed.
Wish I had grown a Cardinal vine Helena.and a cypress vine too.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Jackie, last time I grew a cypress vine it was on the north fence before the dogs.. gee that was a long time ago. We got your rain, Jackie. Last night. Others around us got tornadoes, but we usually get missed, thank goodness. Glad you get more time to get your GH in order.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debra, so glad all you got was the rain.. We could have used some rain here,
its been almost a month for us.
Maybe we can both grow a cypress vine next summer. I love the'lacy foliage
and bright red blooms.
Happy to have some purps blooming.

Thanks Debra. I need to find my cypress vine seeds too. I bought a packet of the mixed colors ones.

Beautiful blooms from your purps Jackie. I got mostly blooms from my purps too and FS x star.

Oh Helena, I love the last opal looking bloom on the end. I bet is a cool cross! Jackie that really dark bloom is stuning. Lov the blue purp too, I have them all here and never grow tired of seeing them.
I do have glories blooming, got to see them today as we tore down the tomato patch sunflower wall. Joe was so nice to let me cut the tagged vines off as he chopped things up for me. I keep telling him compost compost, but he would rather cut everything up into small pieces and send out to the landfill. *sigh* I am glad he leps me tho, and we were really excited about hearing the mouse trap go off on the patio as we worked, 4 times in two hours! LOL Joe was resetting that thing all day, and when we got home from the movies tonight, there was another one. We need one of my grandcats to be here. LOL 35 yr old single daughter came over and we went to laundry mat early, our top cover and her load of clothes. We had a good chat. 40 yr old son is moving back home. He is temporarily in Joanna's newly repainted room. *sigh* wish there was a grandchild in there somewhere, but not so. Also, he does not get to bring his cat (Chiefy) with him so his g/f is taking him. I got to hug and love on him two times last week. He is now 7 yrs old. Black tuxedo . I love him. So does my son! From August of 2013...

Beautiful blooms everyone.
So sad when we have to chop down our garden at the end of the year. Everything here is still blooming. I planted some mums the other day.

Beautiful blooms from 2013 Debra.
I have so many cats that are great mousers, that our mice problem is not bad.
Why can't DS have his cat?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Lovely mums and love the pumpkin face planter, too Linda. Today I brought in about 25 plants and I am pooped. The boys got the last of the big sectional up the stairs to the garage, Joe will take it apart piece by piece, and I am so glad it is finally gone! More room for plants LOL.. Today Charlie moved in, and tonight he told me he misses his cat. I hugged him and told him I know you do.. His Dad will never allow a cat in the house, and all the kids have cats now, and they all have moved back home at one time or another, without their cats. If they can't live outside the house, they will have to abide by the rules in the house.
Joe has always stayed with his rule of no cats.
Here are some blooms from today... and so far I have two stictocardias rooted and going. :) There are three more I am holding my breath on, and still have to cut down the arbor where all the tropical vines are growing. *sigh*
FS for Helena, Pinks for Jackie,Marigolds for Linda.. Happy Fall!

Beautiful blooms Debra. Linda, missed your pretty pot of mums.
We have 4 inside cats and they are part of our family. I hope Charlies
girlfriend will take good 'care of his cat and that he can go see Chiefy when he wants to.

Gautier, MS

Pretty blooms Debra from 2013. Also love the FS and your other blooms. Good job on the mouse traps. Wish my kids cats were outside cats, but they do spend most of their time out.

I had my grandson-son go out and take these pics for me yesterday morning. I wanted to see if he would be able to do that for me when I can't. With more practice he will do better. He used his I pod and my phone camera to see which would come out better. Posting pics from his I pod.

Helena, I don;t know how old your DGS is but he did a great job
Some tiny Carnival of Venice blooms yesterday am after the cool night.
About 1 and 1/2 inches across.

I agree, he did a great job taking photos.

Love all your blooms.

Gautier, MS

Thanks ladies. I should have asked g-son (age 14) to take mg pics yesterday too. I didn't feel up to going out and missed a bloom from Blushing Bride.

Love your purpurea blooms Jackie. The cool weather hasn't affected the size of mine yet.
Todays blooms.

Beautiful blooms Helena. I know the light pink hige is Split Second but I wonder if the dark pink, very pretty btw, is also Split Second??? Love your
FS

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Helen, your blooms are beautiful.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Oh I love the thread see thru look of your split seconds. Beautiful!
My purps are getting small also, Jackie.. so cute! this arbor is the last stand out back, aside form a huge crimson rambler tub that has quit blooming..I just know I missed some blooms while we were gone in September, and the pods are now mystery pods.. :P Still have to cut the sticto from this arbor as well as the thunberiga SP?
( Bleeding heart vine?) Madame Galen, sweet autumn clematis and moon vine are all mixed up in this mess , too ugh.got all the passies in, tho.

Thanks ladies. Jackie the label says Spit Second but it could be a Soft Hige that I had growing too. Just not sure now.

Love the wild look of your garden Debra. Some of mine I let grow like that too, specially the little red ones for the hummers.

It seems I only have the same ones blooming now but about ready to pick my banana peppers.

Thumbnail by helenahkh Thumbnail by helenahkh Thumbnail by helenahkh
(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

mmmm your peppers look yummy! That dark pink is a very vibrant color. Love it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a lot of peppers. Love the morning glories!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Been carrying plants in off and on all day, what a chore. DGS helped when he came in from school.
Your vines all look great Debra.
GS cut down all my virused pandy vines
yesterday. I appreciate all he does for me.
Your last bloom Helena, that hot pink, is a beauty. I see its trying to split.shred so
a hige??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad I don't have plants to haul in and out. Only plants I worry about are the angel trumpets, and I just take cuttings, and bring them in for about a month during cold weather. Hubby would shoot me if I had to bring in all that you ladies do.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yes, but you;re talking about bringing plants inside the house as such.We have greenhouses and a basement so not the same, Every yr though it gets more difficult
to carry them all inside the g house for me, my age showing at 70.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I HEAR YOU, JACKIE. JOE'S BROTHER AND SIS IN LAW JUST GOT BACK HOME FROM BUFFALO FOR THEIR WEEK WITH MOM, AND THEY BROUGHT IN ALL HER PLANTS AND GOT THEM UP STAIRS AND ALL AROUND DOWNSTAIRS AND THAT IS A HUGE CHORE. BUT, SHE IS A HAPPY MOM AT 87 WITH NOTHING BUT THOSE PLANTS TO FUSS OVER AND HAVE SOMETHING TO DO AND CARE FOR WHILE IT IS JUST BORING AND COLD UP THERE FOR HER. SORRY FOR THE CAPS LOCKS. AT WORK AS USUAL.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

So happy for Joe's mom that she has help bringing in her plants. Agreed, we
all need something to do and fuss over,.
I wish I had a good place to walk when its cold and raining outside, I would get in a lot more good exercise, don;t want to
drive over to the mall though

Gautier, MS

Glad Joe's mom had help with bringing her plants in to enjoy during the winter.

You are doing pretty good Jackie, happy you get some help from your g-son. But I know how you feel as I notice I'm aching a lot more when I do anything extra these days.
I missed seeing my mg blooms early yesterday but did take a pic at afternoon of this solid chocolate from old seeds, looks sort of pink color and the pink hige. A late start on solid chocolate so I see more buds, I do want seeds from this vine. Other 3 blooms are from today.
