There was a few other ginkgo seeds i planted in a premium soil mix had in a more sheltered spot and were taken care of better. The difference between the two it that the ones that were taken care of better it there leaves were larger and there were less of them. The others had a lot of leaves but were just smaller. All were the same hight. Over the summer i lost most of the spruce. The bristle cones in the poor dry soil did the best. Most of the bristle cones in the premium soil died. So anyone who want to grow ginkgo trees from seed go for it. You don't need to be professional to grow them. But they won't sprout until the ground temp it to there liking. Order seeds in fall and keep em cool till spring. Since the trees in the premium soil seemed to be leggy in growth i would either place them in a sunny spot or water the ones in the cheap soil more to get the best results. I do have pictures of the more neglected vs. The pampered trees if anyone wants to see them. You notice since I figured out what they like there is little difference between the two at this point.
