I am wary of opening files in the plant ID forum that could very well be malware or a virus that could download to our personal computers. I wish there was a way to block them.
Over the course of 7-10 days, I gave reported to Admin three times these emails with no action. They also exist in Organic Gardening and Handyman/Tools.
OMG, Rockette! 3 pages of such weird spam in organic gardening, some with very suggestive photos! I do not think Admin even watches this forum or moniters their "contact us" mail. I think they must be part time these days as requests are rarely even acknowledged. Maybe if you dmail Terry direct she may see it. I have noticed DG now seems to be full of this so weird spam. I guess that their weird posts are allowed to stay up so long encourages more to post though I can't imagine they get any business from here. LOL

Admin definitely seems out of reach these days. In fact, I wonder exactly who/what is in charge of the entire web site.
With all the hacking and information theft going on in the world these days I suspect even clicking on one of those offensive posts could lead to a problem.
Well shoot, I guess I will find out! LOL I have clicked on a few of them. Though for the life of me I can't believe anyone would ever respond to one of them. Well maybe I would if I lost my love in Tennessee for I think the ad says they would find my love for me! LOL
I do not understand how anyone working for this site misses all this so weird spam that shows up on the front page of DG under new posts and can stay there for hours. You can not miss them as they are so bizarre.
Surely Terry and Melody are around somewhere. Seems like we no longer have "hall monitors" to keep an eye on things.

Still piles of that garbage on Plant ID, now 1:00 pm on 5/21/17.
It concerns me that there seems to be no oversight of the Dave's Garden site. We live in times of hacking and information theft but perhaps have no protection from that on DG. Nobody seems to "be home" these days to help with anything that goes wrong.
Edited to add that I just went into the Address Exchange and removed my e-mail address and birthday. I long ago removed my home address. The less information we provide the less the chance of some hackers getting it.

Seems the spamers found DG has no policy for protecting their members from junk.
In old days you needed a membership to post, now open to all. Very sad how downhill this site has went.
Still amazed there has been no response whatsoever from Admin. None! Do Terry and Melody still work here? If so, the lack of response is surprising and unacceptable.

Facebook "membership" is free. However, membership in Dave's Garden is $25. I think we should get some attention in return.

Folks who pay for membership in Dave's Garden are experiencing problems with massive amounts of spam (some of it lewd) suddenly appearing on that site. Efforts to contact anyone about this have done nothing. ADMIN needs to pay attention. I will be rethinking paying $25 for "membership" in a site that seems to be totally ignored these days.

Well, at least we now know how to get a response from Admin; post on their Facebook page! How odd Admin does nor respond on here, this forum to their members themselves but leaves it up to June to do it or not do it. Why was this not said on this forum immediately when members voiced their concerns? Or better yet, why did Admin not post about this problem and what was being done before any of us even commented? This is a huge problem to me, members are just ignored. No one from Admin ever posts anymore about anything. No one responds to a member's concerns, problems or even just comments. I think they just do not understand that ignoring their members is a terrible policy for a business.
PS Thank you so much June for findind a way for all of our concerns to be heard. And you actually got a couple responses! I am so impressed!
Kell, I spend many hours a day doing a busy Facebook page for a dog rescue group. I have come to realize quickly that the first place to check if you need a fast contact is…Facebook! People seem wildly addicted to it and check it far more often than their e-mail. FB has a private message feature where you can contact someone and it immediately turns up in their FB inbox so it can't be ignored. I used that feature to reach Admin. It really is a lot faster than e-mail and your message to them is not visible to the public.
Good for you working for a dog rescue. I follow a few of them myself on FB and esp love the videos and stories on FB. Hope for Paws and Rocky Ridge Refuge are 2 that I really enjoy hearing about their work. They all need all the help they can get and a little support from everyone can really give animals the lives they deserve! I hope yours is a great success.

Your type of rescue does all the nitty gritty work with little applause and funds. Thank God for rescues like yours! My husband feels we should give our extra money to people oriented charities, help people first before animals. But then who would help animals in need? They give so much but need so little. So we give to people oriented charity and I give to animal ones! LOL

Unfortunately most rescue dogs rarely are purebreds. My rescue specializes in Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes but I recently adopted a Jack Russell Terrier that we took in because she was pregnant and abandoned. She had six puppies and I adopted her once they were weaned and adopted. We love her to bits!

Does no one read the Admin Dmails anymore? I sent one 10/7 with my mother's (Lotusblossom) obituary. I sent it as the header instructed in the Memory Garden forum. No one has replied. :( It's very disheartening as my mother loved DG.
Sorry to say, I don't think so. I too reported a dear member of DG that passed away 2 weeks ago. No one has replied.
Sometimes they will answer if you contact them on Facebook or twitter. But not always.

I will definitely reconsider paying next year. ESPECIALLY after discovering a few days ago that every entry in my journal which had a link to an external website had the http: stripped and the links are now broken. Over 300 entries now have to be edited. ACK.
