Been really hot here in the northeast. I supply plenty of water daily, some twice daily, and my purple fountain grasses are leaning at a good 45* angle. This started with one on Sunday. We had heat real feel temps in the 105-110 range, with sun blasting. Now they all look like the are fainting. They look healthy, other than the leaning. They are not wilting. The whole plant is just leaning.
My question is...are they goners, or will they come back when the heat breaks. We have a good week or more of this heat. Last night three more grasses leaned as well. Have always given plenty of water. Last night two were starting to lean while I watered, as if the water pressure just put them over the edge. I water the bottom of the plant only, I do not spray the whole plant.
Any input?
Thanks so much
Rose

Purple fountain grass
Do you have gophers? Sometimes they'll eat a lot of the roots off, which can make the plant lean. I've seen them eat most but not all of the roots, so the plant leans but doesn't die. Just a guess though.
