I planted using Miracle gro + perlite + Texas clay soil

watered every evening

noticed snails near but not on the trunk

planted in area with 6+ hours of direct sunlight

ISSUE:
brown on the leaves
burnt leaves
yellow leaves

Can anyone diagnose what I've done wrong?
