Do I water a houseplant before fertilizing?

Hi guys
I understand fertiliser should not be applied to dry soil. My question is do I water the plant the day before and fertilise the following day or do I water it and wait half an hour and fertilise?
I'll be using miracle gro all purpose soluble.
Any advice is much appreciated

I don't think it really matters when you water it as long as the soil is damp when you apply the fertilizer. Do what ever is easier for you.
