What are these & are they good or bad. They are eating my carrots.

I THINK it's the black swallowtail caterpillar. They eat the flowers on my parsley. It is going to turn into a lovely butterfly.

They wont eat the carrot, and the tops wont suffer. They also like dill, fennel, parsley and rue I believe. They do look like the black swallowtail caterpillar
