All the leaves on my pepper and tomato plants are somewhat distorted due to aphids and whiteflies damage. I've seen a few pests here and there and have been spraying the leaves with soap + neem oil. My question is are the fruits produced by these plants safe to consume and save seeds from?
Insect damage on Peppers & Tomatoes
Yes, the fruit would be ok to eat and save seeds from.
Thank you, 1lisac!
I find a mix of good organic soap & a little Grapeseed oil mixed with water to make a spray (sometimes) works to get rid of pests, depending on what they are.
Neem oil is good too, but a bit more expensive for me.
Also, maybe try to plant repellent herbs around the tomato, such as basil - I hear planting Basil can improve the overall flavor of the tomatoes too! :)
