What do you want for Christmas

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

I've been one of those that haven't moved to much. I had a cousin that moved twice in one day. Two of the kids left home to go to town and came back and the family was gone. They had to ask the neighbors where the move was to.

Yeah, my family moved a lot, but I always found them.

Roadrunner - it's Spring here in Australia - yes, it's warm. I was just thinking - it's Summer next week - I guess that means for you poor people it's Winter, or close to it, Huh? Brrrrrrrr.

Sorry, Dori, the 18 was just the number of schools - I've moved a trillion times since then!:) Start packing your bags!

We are expecting temps in the upper 20s tonight and tomorrow night, with a high tomorrow under 40. My old back door is mucho leaky, and the old porch offered a little tiny bit of relief from the north wind. The porch is torn off, the new one isn't on, and the wind is pouring through like I was outside. I had hoped to have at least the porch framework in place so I could staple plastic around a corner to shelter my plants that are too bulky or numerous to come inside, but it isn't happening. Wish me luck, I did a ghastly makeshift shelter on the east side. But I did take some cuttings of some things I promised DGers.

If I was to pick something totally selfish...... just for me... I would wish for a romantic "girlie/wifey" type gift, like a fancy nightgown and perfume.... for myself WITH A LOVENOTE from my late husband magically appear under this years tree. Far fetched idea I know but it's what would make my Christmas special. I miss him so much! If only I could have him back...that would be the best gift ever....but I have great memories of many happy past Christmas times and our lovely children and each of them seem to have many of his best traits. I'm so thankful for my wee ones just holding them close will be gift enough.

Awwwww, how long ago did you lose your hubby? Hugs and love coming your way! ((((Mummy and kids)))).

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Erin and Tim - you know your wish is going to come true very soon, so we know of two happy people!! Can't wait for you to get here and looking forward to your second visit which is really just around the corner. As for offloading junk!! I just moved, didn't I??? And I'm still going crazy with all the 'stuff'!! In the past couple of days, believe it or not, I've been toying with an idea of a swap-shop. I have this, what can you offer - sort of thing!! Trouble is, you might not want what others have to exchange and that might incur hurt feelings. Of course, 'my junk' has been travelling with me for years now and even though I would dearly love not to have to dust my house so much, I think someone might have to twist my arm to part with a few things. But - I could be persuaded....lol!! Now down to business. What I desperately want for Christmas is a new truck, but after our recent trip to Europe...well!! Then a heated greenhouse, a brush cutter, cutivator and a few good men!!!! Sis, your wish was something I always wanted but I think I've left it too late now. Hope you get yours!! By the way, the site is not slow for me either!!

Thanks so much Louisa but looks like for now have to be like Johnny Cash with his Car in the old song,"one piece at a time"something like that, lol' I'm going to an auction in a few weeks and try to purchase the post office here' Wish me luck'

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Dori the same for me. I lost my first DH nearly 20 years ago now. My two kids were young teenagers then. We still miss him and I know he would have loved to see his grandkids!! Hope he's looking down on us from up there!! Hugs from me also m4d!!!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

(((((((m4dolls)))))) also ((((((notmartha'skids)))))) also ((((((louisa))))))) I also wish my best friend and her Mom were back just for a day! Killed by a drunk driver back in 82 but I still miss them terribly.
As far as my dearest wish of a gift, I would like to have what my DH wants most---a tractor with backhoe, bucket and tiller attachments. Then I could come help DGers with their housework. Just drive to a window and scoop out all your junk and treasures no longer needed!!!!!!! Also need a new computer since mine keeps saying that I don't have enough memory!!!
Really though I would love it if none of you or yours would remember not to drink and drive! Lani

Same here Lani, as we see the carnage nearly everyday being on the road' Not to mention,we were nearly killed by some' We did get them stuffed and cuffed and off the road for awhile'

And a word to those that think they can beat the law with all the "bird dogs" NOT' They won't out run a RADIO' Can't stress safety enough,"live it" Sis'
