Morning Glories 2016 # 06

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope it works for you. How are the meals?

Helena, love your blooms for today!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda, I don;t know yet. all I;ve had is a muffin for breakfast. for lunch I';m supposed to have a granold bar but I can;t handle a sweet bfast and a sweet for lunch, might make me sick. So I had 3 tsp's full of low fat cottage cheese for my snack and 3 round crackers so then
maybe I can tolerate a granola bar for lunch. I can have a CUP of salad with my lunch and low fat dressing. Also i could have had 2 hard boiled eggs for my snack but i didn;t have them prepared, maybe tomorrow. They tell me what to eat Day 1 thru Day 5 but I have a little bit of leeway.
I;ll let you know when I actually get to eat the pkg'd meals from the starter kit.
I think I get one for my evening meal.

Gautier, MS

Hope you do well on your diet. I need to cut back on eating out and snacks. I'm sure the donut shop that just opened recently has something to do with it.

Here's the blooms that opened today.
Purple lightning
Dark blue star 2013 seed
3 & 5 from same vine
My purple tie dye #4

Helena, those are beautiful morning glories.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda. Hoping to see your blooms Linda....Debra's too!

Jackie, that is one of the chocolate silks.
More repeat blooms.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

You'll do fine, Jackie. I did the 3 day military diet for a month just to fit into one pair of pants, and now they fit. Dr said I lost 5.9 lbs in that time frame. Not doing it now tho..
Your blooms are amazing, Helena. I went out of town over the weekend and didn't have my laptop and don't use a smart phone, so missed you all.

Here is a tub of babies here and there, one is full of Jackie seeds, One is full of Helena seeds and one is full of old seeds from other people..

Those babies look great Debra.
I am feeling tired this morning, hadn't realized that I didn't download the pics when I posted. Some didn't come out good at all, will have to retake later if I can. Finished taking off leaves from most of my mgs, tiny green bugs have been after them, time to spray.
Jackie, I do like my Pink Porcelain a lot, the pink specks has been nice too.

Helena, Your Choc Silk is beautiful Love your pinks too.
The lite blue is really pretty, maybe Lite blue TD
Purple Lightning is a gorgeous mg and lhe dark purple is nice too.
Love your pretty purps Linda.
Debra, my diet is messed up now. I have to start over. I only had 1 meal out of it last Wed b4 I got so sick, I had to take to my bed with chicken noodle soup.
Now my dd is showing signs of catching it too. Starting her on apple cider vinegar in water, which helped me more than anything.
Hope you get some pretty blooms Debra.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful morning glories Helena.

Jackie, I hope you and your daughter are feeling better soon.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda. I'm better today.
DD will be getting more apple cider vinegar. :-(

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

It's raining cats and dogs here, I am so sorry you are down and hope you and your grandaughter recover quickly.
Linda, I love purps, and yours are a sight for sore eyes. I thik I am going to send you some more seeds to try.. I just want you to tag them Debra so we can see what you get. Is there an area in your growing zone you can try beach morning glory? It doesn't take regular soil, mostly sand with a bit of peat. I think I found my pandy, but not so sure, the more it grows the more it looks like orange noah now *sigh* will I ever be happy about losing my bog plants, the american bell flower, the pandy and my sweet cone flowers? NO. :P
Helena those three flowers last post took my breath away. The delphinium is blooming now, and Joe is all pumped about the holy hock out front it is huge. we had to trim the climbing wine rose and hone suckle off the front porch, it was showing black spot and yellow leaves from being over crowded.
Anxious to see any mg bloom here right now.. *sigh* too much rain but can't complain, since everything is getting a good drink and I don't have to water. No water in the basement and that is wonderful!
Dames rocket is going crazy all over the place, the clary sage is done blooming and went to seed so I cut it back hope it blooms again..clematis is on round two of blooms, mock orange is fully bloomed now, Carribia is going great bit needs a trim, Aunt Effie's iris is blooming again and it reminds me every time it decides to bloom. I miss that old woman, wish she were still here..sorry no mg pics.. Off to bed now..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debra, your blooms are beautiful.

No sandy soil here. It is all hard caliche clay soil.

A few of my other plants blooming.

Spanish iris is downtown at the CVS parking lot, pride of barbados, chaste tree, we call it Texas lilac, purple mexican petunias, and I believe last on is bee balm?

Linda, glad to see your pretty neat flowers. Pride of Barbados is my DH favorite and I think I lost it.

I had lots of blooms yesterday on my FS mix. A few new ones that continue to have defects.

Lovely plant pics Linda. Thank you for sharing them.

Beautiful blooms this morning Helena,.
FS is just a gorgeous mg. But I like all the others too.
What is that last bloom?? Its a beauty. I couldn't
tell if its Purple Lightning.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Jackie. Thanks for the offer of seeds Linda but I've collected loads of seeds from PoB. I keep them in my little refrig. I just have to start a few and maybe look outside to see if my plants had a late start.
Jackie that last one you asked about is my Purple blue tie dye blzd. Hope it gets better blooms. Bought the bug spray.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Well I see I;m going to love the Purple Blue TD Blizzard. :-)

Gautier, MS

Jackie, hope it makes lots of seeds to share. I think I have more than one vine of that one. My first purpureas are ripening seeds already.
Only a few nice pics this morning. We also had some rain here.
No Mai from Onalee's seed.

wow!!! speechless at the beauty of all the blooms and plants shown today. :D
Yes, it is a mock orange, taking cuttings after it is done blooming, took cuttings of the nanking cherry already, hope they root. Planted a mountain laurel and a BOP a couple weeks ago waiting for them to pop up. That last pic does look like spotted bee balm, Linda. Bet you try a sandy dish with good draining to try a pes caprea.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I would like to give them a try Debra, I can buy some sand from home depot.

Helena, those pink blooms are so pretty.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Pretty blooms again this morning Helena. Love the delicate colors in that 1st bloom especially. but all are special. You;ve had some great blooms already in this young'
season Helena. .
Edited to say I've not even planted my 3 big tubs outside yet. smh

Helena, those are beautiful!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Gorgeous blooms Helena.
I love your pretty China Doll and the
Hama Ginga is out of this world lovely.
I almost fell yesterday trying to get in the house with a trey of mg's I had
potted up. Ended up with minor damage but mixing up 2 name tags. I;'ve been'extra clumsy getting in too big a hurry.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Jackie.

Be careful Jackie, it doesn't pay for us to hurry anymore. That has happened to me too often too. I'm glad you got a trey of mgs though. I'm overwhelmed by the bugs on mine, I removed most of the leaves and have to get some more spray. I do like my walk at dusk to see what might open the next day.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you have no major damage. I stumble on my own shadow!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

YOU GUYS HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL! WE CAN'T REALLY AFFORD TO LOSE ANY OF YOU! ( I AM SELFISH, AREN'T I?)

YOUR NO MAI FROM OONA LEE'S IS BEAUTIFUL, HELENA, I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED HER SEEDS.
I AM ANXIOUS TO TRY CHINA DOLL.
WISH IT WERE SUNNY OUT BUT WITHOUT THE WIND AND HEAT LOL.. NOT ASKING FOR MUCH AM I ??
