I took this from my mom's mother plant about a week ago.
For now it's in this until I move and can plant it in the grown.
How do I keep it alive? It's starting to turn yellowish and looks a bit bruised and bending.

Aloe can live without planting in a drawer til any raw areas are 'healed'. Yellow suggests you are over watering it drastically and it's drowning. They need no water til the heat gets above 60* or more, and lo light. Your moms' is growing, she knows what to do for it...
