I planted about a hundred hyacinths as part of a large bulb planting last fall. I researched them before buying them and read that they are generally hardy in Zone 7b. Many of them have started to come up and seem to look fine.
Since I planted them, though, I have read here and there that they should be treated as annuals in Zone 7 and, alternatively, that they are perennials but do not bloom with the same vigor after the first year.
Any insights would be appreciated. I planted 50 Fairy White, 50 Yellow Queen, and three Gipsy Queen that I received as part of a mix.
Hyacinths (hyacinthus) in Zone 7: perennial?
