Problem

Camilla, GA(Zone 8a)

Well, at least I just had a watched thread show that there had been new posts..

brainerd, MN(Zone 4a)

When using the "skip to new" function, it brings me down to where I would post something, not to where I posted or read last. Then I have to scroll up to find where I was.
Also, is the "return to top of thread" and "return to home" functions no longer available at the bottom of a thread?

I can't find anything posted the last month or so .

Maybe they think they have fixed it all. There might be another thread citing problems.

There are other threads discussing the problems in the DG site update forum. Nothing much has changed in the last two weeks.

That's this forum. Lol just go to the top of this page and click on DG site updates it will take you to the other threads.

PS I don't pay to be on FB.

That's true, you don't. But Facebook is not going to do the following:

1. Invest in the technology (hardware and software) to provide us with vast database structures like the 'Files and the Watchdog.

2. Actually respond to you, and especially in a reasonably short time period. I have posted - and watched others post - questions & complaints in FB's help forum, and I've seen them do diddly squat to respond. Crickets chirping. Weeks, months, years.

I know that probably sounds defensive and testy, and for that I apologize. But if you think you'll be able to demand anything from Facebook, I can only say we wish you the very best of luck. That said, I should say that I also really LIKE Facebook. I spend a lot of my own free time there, catching up with family and friends, and helping maintain a couple groups and pages as a volunteer. (Melody does the yeoman's work maintaining DG's social presence - and we should all give her a rousing round of applause for doing a great job.)

But I have found that Facebook is a very autonomous, sovereign entity, and their owners don't really care if users like or dislike anything the site does, any changes they make, or even if users have problems or concerns with aspects of how the site is operated. That's fine, but to compare it to DG - which has real live admins who have been here since almost the beginning, and who try our utmost to respond politely and timely to your questions and concerns...well, it's like apples and oranges. Unless you prefer using a site that makes completely unilateral changes and will not deign to respond to you when you howl with rage, or ask for answers.

Terry, that post was actually in response to the post before mine, and others earlier in the thread. If you read those you will understand my post better.
