I renewed in November I think. It would have been a natural time to leave, but I decided to give it a chance. THIS November it will be sayonara, auf wiedersehen and au revoir for me too.
When you edit a post, it shows the time you edited the it (4:30 pm) instead of elapsed time (however many minutes, hours or days). And I noticed nobody is paying attention to what time we post on here.

NIGHT OWLS ONLY (12am to 6 am ) (5 call)
No point in noticing the time - no one's posted late or wee hours of the morning anyway (if that's what you're meaning).
Haven't seen posts on here for months.
Yes ,, Back when Amanda started the thread ,, and we talked a bit here . After Amanda left , it slowed , Marti and a couple of you talked a while , and it was interesting , after com change and differences , it seems everyone moved on ,
Time never was the issue truthfully , it was a place to sound off when sleep was elusive , without posting on threads where no one would be following , or others would feel crowded
When I first came here , it was an awesome site ,
Hope to see you all around on some threads , soon comes the time to move on ,
and carrie , I really enjoyed your articles and chat ,
yes, I'm on "another thread" - not DG
come play in the "sandbox" there!!
Susan ,, and I know of another thread your on , besides , lol
lol oh reeeeeeeally? would that be a box-like cube? hehehehe
Well, Amanda is trying to get the Ugly Mug Swap going.

Hi there, good to be back. Work and busy life has eaten away at my leisure time, but I am slowly building my new garden at the house I moved to in October.
I'm sorry to see that DGs disregard for impact of site changes to subscribers has caused our numbers to diminish. I renewed in April and will always consider this site my first love.
Enjoy the day. :)

Only saying a quick hello Amanda ,, Even If I do not re sign , I will be here from time to time ,
Life and getting accomplished and few things about living ,are , well more important anyway ,,
hi to all of you here
I am not sure yet whether I will stay or not, I may stay just because $20 is not so much money, but I wouldn't join a different, untried website, This one has so much potential.
I agree carrie . I is not bad here at all ,, patience and decision ,
Juhur, the first post in this thread has you saying that it is snowing! Nearly summer here now.
Ju - what's blooming? By now you'd be regaling us with stories about your seedlings at the very least.
Tonight I'm a night owl - Midnight, and our landlord upstairs are Finally quietening down...... I can't sleep when they banging chairs around and having company over. There's no soundproofing between our ceiling and their floor....Thank goodness we move back to our own home on the 31st!!!
I am happy!!
Oh, boy I was up till almost 3 am overnight and woke with a migraine. I work most of the day, tiring stuff, being in the plant business, but I Iive it. So when I have the chance to sleep it is often right home to bed after my shift. Talk about screwd up sleep schedule. :)
No, it does not appear that we are regulating the time limitations on posting anymore, but that's ok. Symptoms of sleep deprivation often manifest most in daylight hours anyway!
Hope you all have plenty of caffeine, sunshine, and baby aspirin (for my migraine)!!! Hey also... I read some reliable scientific sources that said two baby aspirin a day can prevent 9 different types of cancer!!! As I have those dreaded genes on both sides of the family, its important to me as I begin the downhill slope (hahah) to take better and better care to prolong my healthy years. Sleep is up there too. Will let you know when i let go of being a night owl. Ha.
xo

Ju..thanks for the photo updates. Sadly i left a lot of my spring oomers behind at thr okd house as they were well in hiding when i moved in October. I hooe some savvy person is enjoying all those secret species as they break the ground. I love looking at photo albums of my garden over the years.
Keep me posted please.

Because I didn't get much sleep last night, I'm going to try to nap now.....
I don't do well on less than 8 hours sleep........
Looks like it's okay to post during the day here. Is Debra on this thread? If not, I'll go get her.
Haha. Well, JU says it's okay. But LK is welcome everywhere, anytime. Night owls don't discriminate. It was just easier to find each other in the middle of the night when I started this thread.
So my sleep schedule is screwed up. It happens from time to time. I have a lot of stuff I'm trying to juggle, so when I wake up often my brain will just pick back up from where it left off. I'm finding success with one of these ambient noise/sound program/apps so I set it up as I lay me down to sleep. There is a timer and a whole world of sounds you can customize. I love to make a Summer's eve here inside with frogs croaking and crickets chirping. Sometimes gentle waves on the shore, sometimes the sound of a box fan, lately one titled "Zen" has some nifty new age meditative quality. I think I'll go with that. Night, y'all! :)
Hi Amanda! I'm happy TO be sleeping, with all the stress in our lives. It will start to end next Wed when we move, but then .......... well, that's another story :-/
I've pretty much given up on trying to sleep. I take some meds at bedtime that make me sleepy as a side effect and then I sometimes fall asleep and sometimes don't, but I ALWAYS wake up and can't get back to sleep.
That sucks, Carrie!
Is it possible that your system has gotten used to the meds and you need to try another one? Short term sleep is tough.
Tell me about it...............awake every couple hours for several years due to the "hormonal imbalance". No wonder I was exhausted all the time, I never got any REM sleep. And I said I was NOT going the HRT route. No horse P for me.
lol I did that, 20 years ago....... worked, and that's all that mattered to me.
Guess this officially makes me a Night Owl lol
Tallujah, the ones I was referring to (that make me sleepy) are ones I really can't take more of. But a different MD is trying to get me to sleep by prescribing OTHER things with a side effect of sleepiness. Each one leaves me sleeping like a baby (or really, an exhausted teenager) for the first few nights, but after a week, I am not noticing much effect. Ambien is the same way, at first I sleep really well but after a night with Ambien, I need to take a few nights "off" to get tgat full sleepy effect again, i e I cannot take Amben every night.
I am thinking what I should do is rotate, take Ambien on Mondays, another one on Tuesdays, a third drug on Wednesdays, don't sleep on Thursdays, and then repeat. At least if I save up the Ambien effect, I can be sure if sleeping on a particular night. We are having a memorial service for my father on June 26, so if I don't sleep the night of the 24th and take Ambien on the 25th I should be ok on the 26th.
Wow Carrie, that's some kind of prescription line up. Hope you have some relief.
Anna, I guess it hadn't occurred to me that my sleeplessness might be hormonal or chemical. It's not severe enough or persistent enough to require treatment, thankfully. Pretty sure I can identify most of my behaviors that cause my sleeplessness.
Then again, my mom would tell me how she had awakened at 3 a.m. and stayed awake cleaning or cooking or whatever. I always thought that was not right, but here I am lately with the exact same sleep schedule.
Life changes, job stuff, stress, all affect my sleep. This waking and then staying awake...more to do with behavior... If computers and the internet weren't so increasingly prevalent I would surely have slept better these past 20 years or so. :)
It's 2:15 am................I am baking for the open class baked goods at the county fair. It's today/tomorrow/Thursday...............whatever. Anyway, I made my coffeecake and pound cake on Monday. I was not happy with the pound cake so Tuesday I made another one. Also on Tuesday I made my "any other fruit" pie. It's a mix of strawberry, cherry, cranberry, blueberry and red raspberry. I had enough for 2 pies, so, I made 2. The old "heir and a spare" deal, you know, in case one looked like cwap. LOL
This morning I made my cookies. I said I felt like I was back in 4-H again.............I had to go through about 7 dozen cookies to find 12 that were "round". I use a scoop, and was able to find about a dozen and a half that met MY criteria. The judge last year said that because everything was so good, she had to nit-pick and cookies not being "round" was one of them. She apologized. LOL
I couldn't find the 3 or so hours I needed to make the cinnamon rolls today............I had to play for a funeral at 11 this morning. At 1 pm I had to be to work. The Spousal Unit wanted to go to the rodeo at the fair tonight, so we left here about a quarter to 6. After the rodeo there were fireworks which we helped clean up the mess. Oldest DS is very involved, so the SU and I are too, to an extent. We're their "professional rakers" since we mostly help rake up all the "junk" that is left after a shoot. We didn't get home till almost midnight. I don't think I will get much sleep tonight. I just formed the rolls and they are rising.
Since I'm superintendent for open class baked goods I have to be there at 8 am to check in items. After the judging we have a silent auction to disperse the items the same day so nothing is thrown out and wasted. Proceeds from the auction go to the fair association.
This is probably WAAAAY more than anyone wants to know, but since I have to stay up till the rolls are baked and flipped out of the pan, I figured this was as good of a place as any to bore people. LOLOL
well Anna - I am not bored - just heading off to bed, but I will need to be baking too - we're having company on Saturday, and I want to bake pies, cookies and a cake for the men who are coming over for a dinner party we're having "just cuz"
