Suite 315 Sweet Interruptions

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

siiiiiiiigh our tenants are trying to push our buttons again
emailed, saying they'd been phoning and emailing saying that they were told by a neighbour that we'd dropped off court documents but that they don't have them. The ONLY neighbour we told was the one who not only saw the documents, but that we put them in a bag and inside their porch.
I phoned the neighbour, and he said that Marcel told him he had the documents but that "I didn't receive them personally". He doesn't have to receive them personally. I have the directions that say if they're evading us, we can put them where they can receive them (in their porch by the door is sufficient), but not only that - I phoned the neighbour and he's going to email me a statement saying that Marcel told him he has the documents.

I think those tenants are going to try pulling stupid stunts until they move out. They must stay awake at night thinking of things to do.

I really jumped the gun when I said my neighbor moved out without saying good-bye. Her sons and her came over and cleaned out extra wood, etc. out of the garage and then they were taking pictures of them by the house. As they were getting ready to leave for the last time she did come over to say good-bye to me. She was crying, hated to be leaving her beautiful home, but said she wanted to be closer to her children and she was so lonely. I guess it took her a long time to make the decision to sell. She said the final papers will be signed on Tues. or Wed. and a young couple bought the house. The only thing that would stop me was the price, the house was beautiful inside & out. She must have spent all her time keeping it in perfect order. I feel better now that she did say good-bye and I really do hope she is happy where she is going.

Hot here, but will be in the higher 60's for Thanksgiving. So tired of warmer weather all the time.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear she stopped by.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes, I'm glad she stopped by, too - after all, living as neighbours for 15 years calls for some kind of goodbye. It's quite the milestone for her.

Temp is 30 here - not bad, but better earlier when it was 43

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Everyone must be preparing for Thanksgiving dinner. Tomorrow we go to my brothers and then on Friday we are going to my friends, one who just lost her husband. Going to be a couple busy days. Lots of people both places. Stores will be open both days and I think they are so greedy. Lots of great deals at Walmart, but never taking a chance to get mauled. I hate crowds in the first place and I hear people aren't very nice when big sales going on.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No shopping here either.

I talked to Jaye on the phone last night. She is fighting the bug. She is also busy seeing Dr.s. and she sends her love to all and says Happy Thanksgiving to all. She will be back online when she gets a new keyboard.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Happy Thanksgiving

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Happy Thanksgiving to my online family. God bless you.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Happy Thanksgiving to all my US friends!!

Here's a huge LOL for you - our tenants delivered more "evidence" on us last night - it says that the constable who came with us on Sept 25 is a racist bigot, related to us, and that we had the police pull guns on our last "tenant" (we were co-tenants, not the landlords.....), and that the police "several times have stopped me and follow me around, hanging around here" (the entrance to the Park is a common place for the police to have a speeding trap - they call it their "fishing hole"). Marcel is paranoid delusional, and THIS is the "evidence he's bringing into the court? He said the officer told him that he was attending a B&E when he came with us on Sept 25th.....
He sent a letter to the City, and they came back saying that this is an issue between the owners (us) and the tenants (them). Basically, the City is telling him that it's not their issue.
Again, THIS is the "evidence" he's bringing against US?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Just more evidence for you to give to the judge.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yup, it is...... further proof that he's been acting this way towards us too.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I guess not everyone gets to have 2 Thanksgiving dinners. Thursday to my brother's and Friday to my friend who just lost her husband. Both were very good. My friend had a full house and that was great, her daughter and grandkids came from Utah and that sure made for a good day for her. I'm all pooped out now. Also met my new neighbors, very young couple just married a couple years and they seem very friendly.

Poor Jaye, she catches all the bugs going around. Hope she gets better soon and will be back on line with us. I need prayers for my brother, the doctors can't seem to get rid of the blood clots in his legs. His feet are so swollen up that he can barely walk even with a walker. Has been like this for so long. Going to do another ultra sound again and see what is going on.

Susan, I hope you got some good news for us about those odd tenants of yours. Prayers for all.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to her you had a good Thanksgiving Pegi.

So sorry to hear about your brother, I will keep him in our prayers!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

no Pegi - no good news. Our tenant lied and said he didn't get the documents until 2 days before the hearing, and Hearing Officer said that we didn't serve them properly, so the hearing was adjourned until Dec 14th.
Good thing is, I'm hoping my cousin (whom he said was presenting herself as representing the City of Calgary, when she wasn't...... will be back in Calgary before the new hearing, and I've emailed her asking if she'll be our witness as well.
Also, he'd asked our landlord to be his witness to vouch that he'd done electrical work here, for us. She didn't realize that he was saying we were bullying him into it.... she's amazed at what he's saying about us. She & her husband are good Christians, and are allowing us to stay as long as we need to here.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

As I walk with Mandy through the neighborhood I see some really nice Christmas decorations. I'm hoping to get a picture of some of them when they are lit up. One house a life size nativity set is up around one of the evergreen trees. They will all light up when it gets dark. Don't want to be out walking when it is dark though.

Temps are in the high 60's and to us that is a little chilly, so have to get out my sweat shirts. I don't miss the really hot days at all. Haven't checked out my electric blanket yet, one side wasn't working last winter. Never owned an electric blanket when I lived in Minnesota but come to California and we need one.

My niece in New York is finally hope from the hospital but will still do some PT. I'm sure she will work hard so she can walk without a walker soon. She is so upbeat about all this and so many friends bringing casseroles, etc. for the family. Prayers got her through this terrible ordeal,

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope you can get some pictures.

Glad to hear she is doing better.

Hello
Had a wonderful time in NC over the holiday week. Ate to much lol.
How is everyone today

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Sue. Glad you had a good trip! I think we all ate too much!

Now I am in get ready for Christmas mode. Both of my boys and family will be here at Christmas, so we will have a house full!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

So happy you had a good trip Sue. Just what the doctor ordered after all the work this fall.
LK - sounds like a fun time at your house on Christmas. I love it when the family can get together like that.

Been busy trying to finish up gifts for Christmas. Made 15 purses over the last four months and now I get to sew what I want. Kept me out of trouble though.......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Are you working on a new quilt for you?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I will be LK and hopefully soon. I have been given an opportunity to look into being a participant in a clinical study for COPD. If I decide to do it, I will be tied up for a while. It involves inserting one-way valves in a lung or nothing at all and being a control person. So this will take a lot of investigation and a lot of discussion.... I talked with my pulmonologist today about it and he told me basically the exact same thing the lady from the study told me. I want to talk with my family also. Then the decision is mine......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

If you go through it, I pray it works for you.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh wouldn't it be wonderful Barb if it helped..if you participate when would it start?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Don't know yet Betty. There is a lot to consider before I make a decision. The main one being that the results don't stop the disease; it only slows it's progression and there are all kinds of things that could go wrong or not work or not fit the valves I have. My pulmonologist gave me more to think about as well. Will talk with family over the weekend to get opinions....

We also went to a seminar regarding Type II diabetes on Tues night. Norm has it and is having trouble controlling it. Every time he turns around they are adding more meds. This person is a holistic practitioner and we want to hear what he has to say in more detail. All kinds of things going on here right now as if the hustle and bustle of Christmas weren't enough!!!! LOL

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

My type II has become hard to manage too lately. I was surprised at how high my blood sugar was when I went into the hospital as I hadn't eaten for a day and a half. Guess it's just one more thing to go out of whack as I get older.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Good day, everyone!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

And the more it goes out of whack Karen, the more meds they give you. Norm is being saturated with them which is why we went to the seminar to begin with. We met with the Doctor this morning and NOrm will be going through the program. It is terribly expensive but when you have reached the end of the rope, you must learn how to braid some more..... Just the lab work involved is testing for more than either of us has ever tested for before and is totally done to see how the whole body is working. Then a program is designed just for you based on your test results and goals. Norm will be on a six month program starting this weekend!!!! And so I will give even more thought to this clinical trial for COPD before reaching a decision. Fun times ahead.....

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Just be sure he monitors how he is feeling very closely. Never again will I let myself get as sick as I was last month. I don't care if my Dr. thinks I'm a pain in the butt. Every little thing is going to be checked out.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

That's what this Dr is doing. Today is Friday, next appointment - Monday morning. And once a week after that!!!! He will be monitoring Norm closely. I am most curious to see the results of all the testing, Very comprehensive blood, saliva and stools. If all that doesn't tell you how your body is working, I don't know what will. An interesting journey for sure.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a lot of testing. Does your insurance cover any of it?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Covers most of the blood work. The rest is on us but if it is going to give us answers and solutions, we are on board. We have talked with two of his former patients and they were both forthcoming that you have to work at the program but that it will work. So we are being positive about it all.....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

glad to hea that Norm is being monitored so closely, and that most of the blood work is covered!!
"Positive" is the only way to go :-)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh exciting.... there are 4 swans on our lake. wish they'd come closer so I can get a photo.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

how lovely, Karen!!!! Hope you get their picture!!!!!!!!!!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We have a lot of swans on Boardman lake in town, occasionally they stop in for a brief visit.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Did you get your picture of the swans?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Not this time. They were quite a way out. Needed binoculars to even tell they were Trumpeters

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

too bad........

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I bet they were pretty!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Here's a picture of my brother in law, Glen, and his great great granddaughter Nora, in their first visit. He just got out of the hospital on Monday, so they haven't been able to see each other until now.
