The Thundering Herd have been practising how to pick up the paper with the name and NOT eat it. All 3 of my boys love to eat paper. Go figure.
Best/Worse/what did I learn today? & Santaf Warren Xmas exchange
I just sent a message to Debbie and Chrissy on Facebook.
I am on here early because by the end of the day, I just lurk.
Betty I do the same thing with my left leg when going up stairs. Right leg first, then raise left leg. The click in my hip has gone away along with the pain. I have no idea where it came from or wet but good riddance.
I am sure the judge is waiting for the other trial not to jeopardize or prejudice the next trial.
We were 85 degrees on Monday. All time high for that date. Wednesday 55 degrees. Lowest high temperature on that date. And we had rain.
My garden helpers were scrambling to get my zone pushing plants into the garage for the winter. The plumeria still have some blooms on them.
Vern is using the wheelchair all the time now. They are going to do another spinal tap in a few weeks.
Place for second granddaughter's wedding reception has been chosen and booked. Now invitations can be ordered and everything get planned. Bride to be is in Kansas City so that makes it difficult. And she wants nothing to resemble her sister's wedding from October. Mother-in-law to be is actually helping guiding hr son who can then guide granddaughter. My daughter really appreciates her help.
Baby Luke turned 6 this week. Boy time flies.
Marilyn, Gord is having his share of health problems. Like Vern, I would have never guessed he would not be able to walk. But it is mostly a balance problem.
Marilyn, I found out that pork is dry when you over cook it. Temp of roast only need to be 145. Pork no longer has the disease it used to have in the olden days, when we were younger. Google it and read up on it.
I watch programs in our bedroom that i like but Vern does not. We will watch one an he will make a comment that maybe I could add that to my bedroom list. Several of them are really good, fast moving and I think he cannot keep up with what is going on.
Linda, did you get any of that rain. Should be getting some today or last night. So sorry about your car.
Diane, so gad you surfaced. Laptops are so inexpensive these days, you just need to watch the Christmas specials and get one from Santa. I always had a very presents under the tree from Santa because it did not matter how hard I hinted, Vern would not get it.
Betty, I like you mats. I actually had a cup of coffee this morning. It is noon and my hair is not curled and my bed is not made but I am on here letting you guys know I do care.
Katie, I had a bunch of items on my list that were taunting me on a daily basis. Now they are done and it is like a ton had been lifted. I know exactly how you feel. I read something in propagation regarding getting rid of red ants. I need to go back and read it and copy for you.
Vern is ready for his breakfast. Hugs to all of you.
Debbie, there is no $$$ amount, bought or homemade or recycle is fine with us all..do hope you will join in..deadline is soon approaching.
Yikes, best you tell them how important this swap is Dianne, no can eat our names. Lol
Thanks Lindakay..how are you doing today?
Sharon, some programs more then others are so quick, hard to figure out plots, it's not a wonder that Vern cannot follow.Youve great temps, enjoyable I'm sure. I looked at our 14 day forecast and no snow, just thrilled about that. You take in a lot of plants? You have me smiling, with no hubby I always say he would want me to have something special so always something special under the tree..problem is I've run out of something special I want..have too much as it is..plan is to put $$$ away for chair lift, know I'm going to need it😢
Sharon, what did you do to get rid of the lick, sounds much like I'm going through..was energetic this morning for but am hour or so then on the couch with leg up..about 6 gals coming tonight so made my way downstairs to reorganize, make room for them all, took all my time, don't want to cancel as all are into Christmas projects..Rita is bringing 2 new gals, they don't want to sew..best I can do on short notice is work my way to back shed, have a few of those snowmen with large boots, the one I like and I think a few block candle holder and maybe they can do Xmas cards, will be their choice.
Thing we can manage with how I've arranged the tables without anyone feeling they have no space
Need bread and butter so I must go to foodland
Wow, post disappeared, thought it went into cyberspace but not..thank you Lord!
Deb I sure hope so, as I have joined in for the first time this year. I am not very craft oriented either, but have seen some lovely gifts that were purchased exchanged here. As to a limit dollar-wise, I do believe it was posted that you spend what you are comfortable with. I know from past years that the presents are usually a collection of small gifts. Chocolates, candles, small yummy treats, tea towels, potpouri and small things like pin cushions, and sewing novelties. Hope that helps.
Dianne, was worried the boys might not be able to use the phone...GRIN. nice to know you are okay.
LK, thanks for kind thoughts from you all for MIL. She has been released back to the nursing home. Both nursing home and hospital are with 10 miles of me, Betty. Makes it so much easier than the 2 to 2.5 hour drive to her home.
This message was edited Nov 5, 2015 3:30 PM
Jean, you explained it very well, Tks
It's times like this you appreciate being close..guess hospitals are so full that if the patient can have other care they prefer to send them home.
Letting a tylonel3 numb aches/pains then off to foodland..didn't eat a lot today but I'm not hungry so didn't take a TV dinner out..Lordy if I keep this up the TV dinners will do till Christmas
I've been naughty today and indulged on more than my share of chocolate. No wonder I am not too hungry.
Looks like rain here.... how about you Betty and M?
The area on my leg where I got the road rash has become infected. Lovely!!
Betty how do you find your Foodland in terms of having the items on sale right there in the store? Our local 1 is terrible. They buy the items at the sale price then put out another brand of lets say toilet paper. Once the sale is over the shelves are stocked with the item that was on sale but is now regular price. I was in Sydenham this week and way early for my appointment. I went into their Foodland. What a difference - they had all items that were on sale out and no limit.
Jean it must be a relief for you having your MIL closer.
Boys need feeding - the time change really hits them. They can't understand when it is now 5 pm I am not feeding them. Chaos picks up the bowls and throws them around until I feed them.
Dianne
IN SHOCK .. total BAD news, and, Gordon and I are on our way to Toronto on Nov.11 to see a specialist at Toronto Western (Bathurst and Dundas Betty)
Dr Buy, the eye surgeon, will do a consultation that day at 11 .. she does surgeries on Monday, so, I think we will fly down and back in one day ..
I have to tell you .. this is totally so stressful I could vomit ! Sorry ..
With Lorna's folks due to arrive this Sunday for a week, that means leaving them here with her and the dogs .. gawd .. I am stressed to the max right now ..
Have to book flights,no idea if we need a room .. everything is up in the air ..
Uggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
PS .. I totally HATE to say this, but, I think I will have to drop out of Santa Warren:-(
(((((((((Marilynne)))))))))) so sorry to hear about the stress you're going through!!!
My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
(((M)))
Sorry to hear that "M". Sending lots of prayers.
We have been getting little sprinkles of rain here and there. But no major storms.
Betty, I am still bruised from the seatbelt, but it will take time to heal.
Dianne, so serious rash is infected. Are you going to the Dr.?
Oh "M" = please know that our prayers are with you and Gord, We will try to be quiet as we wait with you. Hopefully all will go well....
I vomited .. feel better .. but, my mind is swimming ..
Flights are booked, and, I am 'assuming' flying is OK .. will phone and ask again tomorrow
I am also staying on the gift exchange list ..
Going to bed, another full day of cleaning and shopping tomorrow ..
M
Marilyn, so sorry about Gord. So what is the surgeon looking for and hoping to fix? Having your husband sick or hurting is such a stressful time and many people do not get it. Everyone here understands and you guys are in our prayers.
Betty, I did absolutely nothing. It just went away. I do not know where it came from or where i went but I am glad it is gone. It was that weird pain that every time you took a step your body automatically limped. I still walked the dogs every day, twice a day and took Motrin. Only think I can attribute the pain too was lifting Vern's wheelchair into the back of my SUV. That is how I hurt the other side and aggravated my sciatic.
Susan has not been on here today. That is worrisome.
Now it is time for Vern's dinner.....Have no idea what I am going to feed him. Made him a killer burrito for breakfast/lunch.
My dogs are having the same problem with the time change. Cecil, the male schnauzer, thinks if it is dark, it is dinner time.
I'm around - got my old pain meds yesterday, and I'm feeling a little "loopy" but my pain is much better handled.
Don't worry about me :-)
can't sleep so early house work, then gym, and some more house work. date night tonite. no cooking! yippers
Good morning ..
Well I made it til 5am .. then, again fought the pillows,
Have spent most of the night letting all the INFO seep into my brain !
So many issues and questions without answers ..
Case in point .. Gord waited for 6 months to be booked for his Carpal tunnel release .. that surgery is booked for the 19th .. if this eye surgeon says surgery is needed, where does that put the hand surgery ..
So much to find out, and,so much to do today .. everything SHUTS down at 4pm Friday .. wakes up again on Monday.
Have a great day
~M~
Morning all,
"m" that is not the news we hoped the doctor would give you. Heart goes out to you and Gord..if they are sending you to Toronto you have to know that Gord will be in the best of hands..Lenny, Suzanne's husband had eye surgery there earlier this year, great result..will have to ask her what the surgeon's name was. Yes, truly has been a difficult year for you all. Have you called Murray? Lorna will do fine with her parents, some one on one might be good for them. Hugs my friend
Dianne , you must call the doctor so that you can get something before that rash gets worse..
I find because we live in cottage country the prices are steep, so with midland so close I shop there except for odd thing I need. No frills is opening at end of month and it's about 5 miles away and foodland was bout and will be open as a community test store so we will see if I shop more in town. Rain expected over next few days.
Sharon, hope mine goes away as well! Lordy those wheelchairs are heavy to lift..you will do yourself harm for sure. Don't you hate having to decide what to eat all the time? Funny that dogs also get confused with time change. Almost a week since we changed clocks and body is still confused. Did you get all the plants you will mother this winter in?
Susan, how far are you on the prayer shawl? Glad you have meds that are working..they are a godsend for sure.
Lindakay with being sore from seatbelt and the hip pain you are in how are you filling in your days? How are the boys doing since their dad's death?
Kathy, where are you going on your date night?
Not a wonder you haven't slept. Guess you will have to prioritize , eyesight comes first I would imagine.
Praying that both will be scheduled so that neither will have to be rescheduled.
Keep in faith,w lord will be by your side to give you strength.
With rain it's an inside day, have clean up in the craft room after last nights craft night but that won't take long, maybe wash floors, exciting right? Well maybe work on a project for the Santa Warren exchange.
Deb, have you decided if you will join in? Soon time for the puppies to pick our swap buddy's name. Sooo glad "M" will remain in the swap.
There is nothing stronger than the prayers we send to the ears of the Lord. He will be with you "M". I'm glad you decided to stay in the swap too!!!!
Yes, include me in the Santa Warren swap, please.
So sorry to hear about Gord, M. Praying everything goes as scheduled and he can get both surgeries done, and be on the mend quickly.
Deb
Morning everyone! Looks like several of you were early risers.
Betty, I don't do much during the day, I sit at the computer sand check into DG and Facebook, or I walk outside, and admire the flowers still in bloom. I know it is just a matter of time, until jack frost visits for the first time, and all will be gone till next year. I have a few angel trumpets plants I will bring in, all others will be cut and rooted for next year.
I am in several other swaps, and need to make something for them. Maybe some rug mugs?
Great idea Linda play, quick and easy
We were talking last night, 4 mug rugs, nice mug, hot chocolate and cookies, would be a nice gift. Glad you are not over exerting yourself..bruising takes much longer to heal than broken bones sometimes.
Deb, so glad you will join in. More to add you to the list
Positive thoughts for Marilynne and Gord. I've had two eye surgeries in the last few years and they went well. Had some kind of eye problem yesterday probably and allergy, lots of itching so I put on some coconut oil and a bandage and slept like a log. Area around the eye is swollen but the eye looks OK.
I'm still decomporessing from my three monkeys. Hope to leavve for San Diego on Monday so I'm not trying to do much but get ready. If I take it easy it should be a peaceful trip.
Chilly here this morning. While most of you are hunkering down for winter we are enjoying our cooler and less humid weather. Beautiful blue weather as my mother once described it. Blue skies, blue sea and lots of green plants after our September rains.
Wish better health for our many friends here. Grateful that my furbabies and I are doing well.
hugs, katie
Betty - shawl is done, and delivered to the church
I've done 2 shawls - one as a present for Susan in GA, and a prayer shawl for the church.
This is what happens when you have more time than brains lol
I'm now working on a scarf for the church's Craft Sale Nov 14th
Marilynne - here's hoping that both issues are taken care of, for Gord, with no more stress..
I like hearing the ladies tell you that their eye issues were handled easily - here's hoping the same for Gord.
Katie - glad to hear that things are going better for you.
All of you are in my prayers - just woke up and haven't had my coffee yet,
Katie, glad to here you are in a good place mentally, where will you stay, I always worry about that?? Safe travels..now how long will you be gone?
Susan you are knitting up a storm..it's that time of year isn't it, Christmas Bazaars here as well.
Been a busy morning, have all my housework done then had company, Darlene and John, seems strange to say Darlene and John, came to visit for a bit..
I cooked a stew, invited them for lunch but they also are on a mission.
Almost hurricane winds here, think someone said 70-80 mph, just a bowing and odd time sleet so inside for sure.
Almost tempted to have a nap..
Went out to lunch with a group from work. Ate too much, a nap sounds like a wonderful idea! Too bad I have this project to complete before I go home!
Always nice to socialize with co-workers.,now watch, when you don't have to work and could nap you will be wide awake!
Already dark in the house, had much planned, visitors this a.m and then Suzanne stopped in for a fist so much too late to go downstairs and start a project..alright to have some wasted days right?
Taking a much needed BREAK .. Lorna is stil vacuuming, and dusting ...after we got home from shopping I took on the bathrooms .. gads .. so much cleaning, and purging ..
Toilet in ensuite bathroom has decided it's going to act up and flush when it wants to .. otherwise, it fills to the top, and, I have to plunge it ..
NO clue whats up, cleaned it to the max and back .. even used a lemon under the rim .. lemon is my saviour .. clean most everything with it .. works like a charm, smells nice too..
Seems everyone is busy .. we have STONG west winds as well Betty ..
Have shower curtains and mats on the line ..
WHOA .. 5 F18s (my fantasy ride) flew over today .. YEOWZA .. the house shook .. can't imagine what it's be like being in a warzone!!
Back to the bathrroms
BBL
~M~
PS ..as always. thanks so much for Ts and Ps :-)
busy people here - no wonder naps are taken :-)
Yes, after this scarf and hat I have a great niece or nephew expected Dec 10th to knit a baby blanket for.
Keeping me out of trouble lol
Are you going to post pictures Susan?
The shawl I made for Susan has already gone in the post to her, and the Prayer Shawl has been delivered to the church, so no pictures, sorry. It was made from a super soft fuzzy wool, in burgundy - basically a wide, 6' long scarf.
The one I made for Susan was a "pocket shawl" in blue, and also very soft. I have the pattern picture, so will scan & post it later.
For now, I think I'll just go sit and knit the scarf I'm making for the church sale, and relax.
These meds are really knocking me out - back on the hyromorph, and I'm drifting off as I sit here.
Sure am glad that Canada's health plan pays for 70% of it....
Don't ever let me near your computer if I should happen to visit you. I ended up with no working computer this morning. Took the laptop over to our village computer guru. He called me at 4 all fixed. Woo hoo
I'll go back tonight and catch up.
Later ladies
Dianne
Glad to hear you're back online x 4, Dianne
lol are you saying you're jinxed?
Hi
Glad you got your puter fixed Dianne .. get such a helpless feeling when it either freezes, or, just will not turn on, or,OFF ..
Susan ... is Susan coming back yo visit in the new year? I thought I read that, but not sure ..
Barb, bet you're glad to be down to one purse left to make:-)
Betty .. hope you're OK ..
LindaK, how's the hip holding out? You soon find out re the MRI ?
I'm doin laundry and on and on today .. company arrives tomorrow .. and I am an emotional wreck .. so worried re Gordon ..
Best get a bustle on
Have a great day
~M~
Morning all,
Sandman past my house last night, what a long night.
Dianne, you had bought the laptop for Santa Warren hadn't you? Don't you feel lost without one? Today is the day, taking names for Santa Warren Exchange..hmmm maybe that is why I could sleep, anticipation mounting as to who I get as my Christmas exchange friend..proud to have any one of the names that is for sure.
Susan, hope those meds are finally settling and they are not zoning you out. Great that you have your knitting when you aren't able to be too mobile.
"m" you and Gord are in my thoughts and prayers
Wow, wonder were they were flying to.. Is the snowbird team now distinct? Didn't hear about them at ex or at camp Borden show?
Just had coffee, dark outside, so very quiet, nothing on my agenda except maybe go and cut greenery ready for Christmas arrangements, will hide it under the deck in case it snows for easy access and all will stay fresh until a week or so before Christmas (commercial industry has theirs already cut)...so much better than tramping the forest in 3' of snow
Other than that nothing to do
No housework, got it done yesterday
No cooking, made a stew yesterday, some to freeze and other meals in freezer
So, what else shall I get up to?
We cross posted "M"
Yes, still in mega pain, not much one can do but just battle on
When do you fly out? The appointment is when? Did you purchase tpreturn tickets? Wondering if because you've come so far they might decide to fit you in for surgery then what would you do with return tickets
Calling for rain today with a high of 47 ..Rita is suppose to come greenery picking with me this morning, not raining yet so hope she calls early so we are not out in the rain
Try to relax today..
Morning everyone.
"M". hip is about the same, it woke me up about 30 minutes ago. I see the surgeon on the 12th. I pray he has some answers to get what ever fixed, and soon!
Susan, those pills are really strong, please don't drive while taking them?
Dianne, so glad to hear you got your computer fixed. Anxiously waiting on our names.
