" 3rd Annual 'Christmas Friendship Gift Exchange' in Memory of Santa Warren"
We were all thrilled 4 years ago when Dianne and Santa Warren brought up having a Gift Exchange amongst we friends, often thought of more as family.
"I guess we should decided on an upper limit cost wise, I would hate to see anyone withdraw because they were afraid the couldn't keep up with the Joneses (old Welsh expression). So I guess we should consider a guide for the cost factor, it doesn't have to be hand made"
No amount will be set.. gifts either handmade or bought will be within each others budget !!!
Sign up by November 7th
names given on the 9th..am sure duke and diesel will think its an honor to pick names for us
mailing by December 1st as to be ahead of the Christmas rush
Thank you Dianne for hosting this Christmas Exchange and we will look forward to our names..
I will keep the Santa Warren friendship Christmas Exchange on top of each thread until the exchange has been completed.
As I'm looking forward to this exchange I will start it..

Best/Worse/what did I learn today? & Santaf Warren Xmas exchange
Aren't you getting excited, soon Dianne and her Thundering herd will pick names for Santa Warren Christmas Exchange..
Still no news as to how the court sentencing went, maybe they are last on the docket.
Nerve racking for sure.
Must go back and read the last thread postings, let's see what I can remember
Katie was celebrating and rightly so, will be wonderful to start feeling the stress release.
Sorry to hear you are unwell Barb, not to be sewing or knitting you had to be feeling bad
Lindakay, how long before you get the caddy back
Karen, bet you are packing, getting ready for all that travelling..are you a travel lightkind of gal?
Couple of girls were here talking about going to Frankenmuth..wish I could be bus trip doesn't appeal to me..perhaps another time.
Jean, sad to hear how bad your MIL has been but glad the doc
has it under control..is the hospital a closer ride for you?
Added Judy to the list, Drats, forgot to add her name.
Girls just left, decided I didn't have lunch so I put chicken and dumpling TV dinner in micro, will eat early..girls are thrilled with their sewing today, another day and the top is finished and quilting started.
Will wait a bit then go to post office, only a few snowflake quilt blocks to arrive so I'll check, might be one waiting.few groceries needed as well
Drats,Drats,Drats and even more Drats
Officially the young man who stabbed Noah pled guilty
Judge said he would give sentencing in May as he wants to review all and have the other guy involved see in court
All hoped it would be over today
The adjuster finally called me yesterday afternoon, told me it would take about 3 weeks for repairs to be done, as the garage was already busy with other car repairs. I hope they get it done early. We got a GMC Terrain for a rental.
Oh no, that is not good! I thought the waiting stress would be over.
Yep, excited for sure! I've got a few cool ideas!
Thanks Moonbeam for reminding Betty to add me...wink, I'm in.
Well the guy is here to fix the hot tub...luckily not too expensive. DH should get his soak in tomorrow...This weekend We have to get the pier out. Sounds like no females are tagging along sooo, cross fingers I don't have to go.
Does anyone still have any late blooms? We have a few roses thriving pretty well.
They are new to the garden this season...Mothers days from Breenie. She and Emily planted them but threw away the tags, so sigh, I don't know what they are called. But they are Pretty.
and the Last of the Japanese Maple...Jake has decided to heat the pond this winter, this way he won't have to tank all those fish, yes they all have names!
Must go look Judy, you've mega color..
I don't remember hat pond, hmm recent?? What will you do with fishes?hope you get to stay home and play
I too have ideas, just need a name to add something personal for my swap buddy
Lindakay, that's a nice rental isn't it? Long wait, could you have brought it somewhere else?
When the girls were here they wanted to see the wedding quilt, looked in every tote, no wedding quilt pieces, what could I have done with it? Called Rita's, she is out, only person I can think of who might have taken a tote home, maybe she made an error and took one of mine.
Will go back downstairs and look in every toe and box and see if I might have overlooked it.

Can you hear me ohh and Ahhh
I agree, #4 with pink and red petals is something but pride of Barbados is beyond beautiful..spectacular to say the least!
Rita called, nope, doesn't have a tote of mine
Going to shut everything down in my craft room so will give one more look for it
I'd be so upset if I couldn't find it but it must be there, looking with my eyes closed
Chuckling, early in the year when Noah was going through a rough patch and came here for a few days I was worried about his mental health so took all my pills and put them somewhere..I searched high/low, upstairs/downstairs, closet/drawers and to no avail.
Sunday I was unpacking the totes, in my little coffee I have a 3' tree and have a bunch of small decorated Xmas boxes so it looks like pressie's under it. Unpacked one of the boxes and could here some rattling, thought it might be tree decorations, opened it and voila all my pills, fron high blood pressure pills, to Tylenol 3, excedrin migraine etc..not sure the will be useable but I will check
Must have hid them then put Christmas away and gorgon my hiding place..likely same with wedding quilt. Lol
Think I should have a book that lists my hiding places
They should be good Betty, I hope you went out and replaced them so you did not go with out?
Did, meds covered as I'm a senior, just excedrin migraine meds I hadn't replaced
Going downstairs, have a quick look for the wedding quilt container then hot bath..think I will pass going to post office, have a lazy on
Betty - vote is NO on closing this thread - as you can see, it's quite well read (and full of lurkers lol)
I'm chuckling with you on the "hiding places" and the book to list them - do you not think you may misplace the book? LOL
Lol. Likely
I'm so organized I'm disorganized at times
Went back downstairs and there on a tote well hidden under a work table sat the plastic container with the rag quilt shop hop I did when with Joyce and the girls were here AND wedding quilt project..Lordy now I will be able to sleep
A mrs Santa /mistletoe movie played 3 times today and now it's Christmas Miracle just starting, I swear that they think it's December vs November.
Joanne who was here quilting today who had one of those plastic kind of sewing machines, was so frustrated with its performance that she sent me an email asking my thoughts on one being sold on the shopping channel, lovely machine but I did say to check to see if it has warrantee in Canada and if it's a USA sale consider exchange and likely get one as reasonable here..don't want to burst her bubble BUT I learned the hard way remember buying a husqvarna machine Christmas Eve in Fort Myers florida
Can't believe it's only 6pm, guess when you get up at 4 and 5 in the morning 6pm does sound late

Keeping Gord in my prayers "M". Hope today's appointment goes well.
What a long time to wait for sentencing regarding Noah!!! 6 months is 6 months too long!!!!!
Got my camera back from my son last night so today I will get pictures of what has kept me busy. I have already given out most of the purses I made but still have one here so will get a shot of it.
Only one more to make.
Feeling a lot better this morning. Chest doesn't have that heavy congested feeling anymore. I think my legs are starting to say "no more" as I am having trouble walking any distance. I must look into what I can do while sitting to strengthen them... If I want to shop at the big stores, I wait until Norm can take me and I use a wheelchair. I just can't handle those cement floors.
Today I am sewing for me!!! Got some coaster sets I want to make for a few of the people in my building here. And a few wallets for my son and Norm. They love the little cloth ones that don't dig into their behinds! LOL And maybe some online shopping - always fun.
Have a wonderful day everyone-You are all in my prayers.....
Since meeting with Enrique at Immigration I've had a two-day sleep marathon. Woke up at 4am today and seem to be slept out.
I brought a lot of naked lady bulbs down from the landscaping I did for my friend in San Francisco. Two of them are blooming. Others are still alive; some have leaves, some are still solid bulbs. Guess they are each making their own adjustment to this climate. I'm glad some of them are blooming.
Picked a large batch of okra for Dana and Tom. When I delivered it Inky Dink and I had a good visit with Dana and their three little dogs. Tom participated a little.
Sure hope all goes well for Gord. It's very scarey.
Guess I'm having some major adjust issues with three big problems taken care of this year. The land is paid for, the IRS is done with me and I can get my Immigration status to permanent resident in three years for $100 per year - if they don't change the rules again!!
My little gac plants are taking off and look great. It's funny I tried some seeds from a different seller a few years ago. Only a few germinated and all died off in short order. These, from an eBay sller, were sprouting when they arrived and I think I have more plants than the number of seeds I ordered. I also have some tomato plants coming along. It's usually too hot for them in the summer so they are winter crop for us. Tomatoes and okra are two great crops to grow here. Or anywhere as they are rarely good from the grocery. I have about two dozen adenium plants, some of which may bloom next summer. We've been picking papayas. Lots of squash and cucumbers coming up; hope they don't get hit with fungus or bugs. We usually get some.
Neighbor Tom has found some work for my former worker Carlos and is happy with him. I'm happy for both of them as I was just not able to accomodate a third employee even though I was happy with his work. I need to de-stress for awhile. Carlos hleped me make a big blue planter barrel and it's on the west side of my house where it should get a lot of sun thiis winter. I have squash, cucumber and pme cherry tomato growing in it. Another experiment for growing in a desert subtropical climate.
I seem to be awake but foggy. Not light yet and I don't feel like cleaning. Maybe I'll read a bit.
hugs, katie

Forgot to say that I hope the delay with the case of Noah's assailent means the judge will take the charges seriously and sentence accordingly. kb
passing threw. on my way to the gym. have a good day all.
The dogs did OK in Atlanta. It was loud, it was crowded, I showed Bonnie in the puppy classes, and she was a bit overwhelmed by everything. Didn't want judge to touch her first class, by the end of the week she was doing better, but no great wins. Hayley came along for the Parade of Veterans, she got a nice medallion and a rosette with her name printed on it. I got a lot of nice comments on both girls. It's our big, once a year specialty show, that people come in from all over for. We had dogs from Germany, Sweden, even Japan. Nice to catch up with old friends, meet new people. I spent way more money than I should have, but got a pretty necklace, and some nice artwork, with the proceeds going to rescue.
Morning all,
Gracious me, moving slow this morning but that's ok, am moving!
Loved seeing the garden photo's, not much in my gardens except perhaps great shrub colouring land leaves but did take a photo of a few stragglers
Thunder, all granddaughters, congrats, envy you, sure would have loved to have a girl to spoil
Deb, difficult for these pups to get used to all the fanfare of a show, expect that experience will make her a champ.glad the show was all you wanted it to be! Great visiting with friends and meeting new ones. After all you've gone through this summer you deserve to spoil yourself.
Kathy is the gym helping you?
Katie, maybe it's a good thing, somewhat, the juspdge might want to review exactly what went on before sentencing but 6 months is a long time..I also wonder if they want to get the 3rd guy in court and finish him off before he makes his decision..guess nothing can be done. My fear is with how the system works that the time this young gaffer has out in and adding into 6 more months that he just just get time served and probation..don't want to see him get life but squarely a few more years.. Bet Carlos was thrilled that you were able to have neighbor find him some work..and yes, keeping 3 going would be financially taxing seeing you have to pay $100 a year for residency..now do you have to pay (maybe I missed it) for all the years you've already lived there? When are you planned to travel stateside. Hope you get to visit with Amma. I so wish I could see photos of your gardens.
Barb, think someone had a great idea for a Christmas gift for your son, a camera..
Roger always said his wallets were bulky, wearing out his his Jean pockets, didn't think of making one. Anxious to see your photo's. Great that you are feeling better and up to sewing and getting out..bet a fabric store will be visited..lol
"M" how is Gord this morning, hope all goes well with his appointment..so worrisome..if it's the meds that is affecting his eyesight could they not find an alternative?
You may remember I told the story if Roger going completely blind for over a week and taking convulsions..they had changed his high blood pressure meds to generic meds..got off them and in days had his sight back..doctor insisted it couldn't be but was. Lorna's dad a tad better, trip will be hard on him.
"m" I woke up about 3 times during the night, last time at 4:30 but told myself I wasn't getting up again at that time of morning, guess while I was discussing up and at it time with myself I fell asleep, woke up just after 7am..with the girls coming tonight it will be a late night so that's good, maybe then I will sleep.. Too much on your mind, it won't shut down, maybe after your dr's appt and company you can relax more and fine the sandman.
Big sigh, Christmas in wonderland is on, sure not much of a Christmas show
Will head downstairs after some oatmeal, would like a few mug rugs for the coffee table, saved a tutorial, at least I hope I did that it's all done in one easy step, now to find it
Might take out the wedding quilt and do some appliqué stitches on it
That ought to fill in my day
Betty, the roses, daisies and foliage is beautiful.
"M", we Re sending lots of thoughts and prayers for you and Gord today.
Katie, I am glad to hear everything is now working in your favor. Must be such a relief.
Will be waiting to see your purses Barb. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Good Morning!
Whew going to be another nice day! I have got to get out there and do something besides watch nature. lol
Oh wow, Betty you still have roses blooming too! My goodness, didn't realize how hardy they really are.
Linda I love that bi color rose #4. Does it always bloom like that? and Wow with the Barbados!!
It is just spectacular! Betty, nice to see you still have daisies! My last show was in September.
M, I sure hope that clears for Gord, what a scary thing.
Barb so glad your feeling better. Oh my goodness, I sure know that feeling with the legs. I've had issues for the last 8 years! All I can suggest is keep moving...Oh yep will be anxious to see all you have been working on.
Hey Moonbeam, ringle jingled you last night...I sure am glad to see MIL is improving keeping you in thoughts and prayers, Hey did you see the article of Mary and Lance restaurant?
She posted in FB...Also someone took their giant Ice cream cone!! It's now been recovered.
Katie, so glad you got a good nights rest! Yep you've been through a lot this year! Sigh of relief that things are looking pretty good...woohoo girl, you got through it! Sure hope you get to visit with Amma on your next trip.
Karen, wanted to say, how thrilled I was you got to visit with family. Wow, you are quite the traveler! What an honor to create and deliver the QOV. I loved the photo's you've shared.
Safe travels...
Deb, so glad you had such a great time at the show. And yeppers, you deserve to get few things for yourself. Hope you get some rest now.
OMG...Although tempted, I am refusing to watch Christmas Shows/movies, it's just too early.
At this rate they midaswell play them all year. Ok slap my face for that comment, lolol.
So glad you found your quilt Betty.
Grabbing something to eat...bagel anyone?
Judy they are called carpet roses and yes, sometimes snow is on the ground and they are blooming..hearty for sure.
Did you find out if you are going to the cottage or not this weekend?
Lordy wanted some mug rugs, took less than 10 minutes to make one..used heat padding inside, likely make the next one with batting only then see which I will prefer
Judy, this is the only one that bloomed that way. All the others are all pink.
Maybe crossed pollinated?
Have to either spend day upstairs or downstairs..left leg giving me the what fore
Climbing stairs by stepping on step with right leg then dragging left leg, must be a muscle again
Drats
Likely tomorrow I will be ok
Darlene's kittie made it through surgery, had 8 teeth out, will spend weekend at the vets then home
Have a WiFi connection
Sitting waiting. .worst part!
Office is filled with folks
ttyl
M
Betty, i feel better since i started going to the gym. i come home exhusted but it goes away. my trainer realy worked me hard today
"m" just think how crowded it would be if they could see us all
Hope for good news
Kathy, well worth the workout then ..I give you credit, don't think I'd be as committed as you are
Well holey moley I haven't been able to log on with my table computer for over a year. My laptop is seriously ill so thought I would give the tabletop one a try. It worked!!! Maybe it needed a long nap.
I was getting worried about not getting the names for the exchange but am good to go now. Maybe I won't shut down this table one so I can have access 24/7. I am afraid to shut it down in case I can't get back on.
Betty did Debbie say she wanted to be included and I have idea where our Crissy is.....
Deer hunting here but I have only hear 2 bangs all week. Last week the deer were everywhere. I think they know when to hide. Its a bit too warm here for them to be galavanting around.
I haven't read anything will go back and do that later .... missed you all.
Dianne
Glad you are back on line Dianne..might be good to ask Santa for a computer.
Haven't heard from Debbie in ages, think maybe you hear from here more than I..
Is Chrissy even a member anymore? Might have to check that out Sooo guess it's the names above
Excited to get my name so I can get a box filled and mailed
Betty & Dianne, I was toying with the idea of joining your gift exchange. I've never participated, not sure of the rules. Is there a dollar amount? I'm really not "crafty" though I love homemade things. Is store bought OK?
