All,
I am interested in having early blooming bulbs naturalized in my lawn, and have been considering Scilla Siberica and Crocus.
Does anyone have any tips or comments on the advantage of one vs the other?
Thanks!
Crocus vs. Scilla Siberica
Different species with different appearances/characteristics, so it depends what you're going for. Scilla siberica can seed a lot once it starts to establish, after many years; however in a lawn, it would have considerable competition.
If I was doing this (it wouldn't work here, as the season is so short that green foliage would be cut down with the necessary lawn mowing), I'd go for both, plus some other small spring bulbs.
