I wonder if anyone knows of a 6 inch or under plant that will spread in my small front
and act as a green mulch between vegetables in my back yard,
or are these different plants?

Looking for a good low green mulch/ cover crop
Often a green mulch is a legume, and this will add more nitrogen to the soil than most other plants. Low growing clovers and vetches are often used, but make sure the plant will not take over, that it will die down when you want it to.
I think I want two plants, one to grow low and stay low and not be mulched for the front yard,
and another for the back garden, to be tilled in and or to be a weed smotherer in between the plants I am cultivating - also a low height plant ideally.
