I had purchased a musa banana plant 2 months ago.The plant is 4"inch tall and I repotted it 2 weeks after I got it.it looked healthy earlier but in the past 2 weeks, I found the older leaves were turning brown from the bottom .The newer leaves look unhealthy.I tried miracle grow potting mix soluble for the plant but nothing has worked. I have placed it in the patio with full sun and I water once in every 2 days.
Can you please suggest something so I could save the plant from dying.
Banana plant dying
I would remove it from the full sun. Place it in bright light, but not that much direct sun.
Check the soil before you water it. The soil should start getting somewhat dry between watering. Not dry all the way through, but enough to allow air to enter the root zone. Roots need oxygen as well as water.
Some soils hold more water than others, so the timing between watering would vary.
I agree. It's almost a certainty the plant is dying of thirst (can't take up water or nutrients due to a lack of oxygen in the root zone) in a sea of plenty.
