Screened in Patio Garden

Jacksonville, FL

I moved into a Condo and working on a screened in patio garden.

Let me know if you have any suggestions. Picked up some flowering plants that do well in shade. Also getting a trellis that my Brother indicates that I can grow Bleeding Heart Vines on.

Watering the plants daily for 15 or 30 seconds (1 or 3 gallon pots).

Also picked up two plant stands and a fountain. It looks nice but I have no experience with gardening.

Can you add some pictures of the area?
I always add too many plants, they get too crowded, then I have to decide which to keep. I have a kitchen counter full of new plants to be moved out to my greenhouse.

I think 15-30 seconds a day is not great for watering. If you are misting, this is wonderful for the humidity.
It also depends on the type of soil.

I have a coarse, but retentive soil, so the water flows through freely between the coarse material, but is trapped by the organic matter so some lingers to keep the plant going between watering.
Even in the heat, I am watering about once a week.

I like plants that are just a bit too tropical to grow outdoors in this zone. For me, this is mostly house plants, and some succulents. I like odd plants, too, like epiphytes (Tillandias, Christmass Cactus and their relatives, Staghorn Fern...)
I also like fragrance, and have a Jasmine sambac that I use to flavor black tea.
I also am a 9b, but Miami is a LOT more humid than the S. F. Bay area.

Are you getting an error message about file size? I do not know what the limits are.
