It can be fun to breed your own zinnias - Part 6

Ottawa, KS(Zone 5b)

Hello everyone,

Not much activity here in this forum. I am currently very busy with my zinnia hobby. These are a couple of my current favorites.

Hello again everyone,

Still not much activity here in the forum. I am currently busy with the indoor phase of my zinnia breeding hobby. I am interested in the "skinny tube petals" variants.

Interesting. Florists would love them.

Hi Loretta,

I assume you are the same LorettaNJ over at the National Gardening Association. Things are kind of slow here, particularly in this Hybridizers forum. That is a little surprising to me since this Hybridizers forum is one of the "open" forums that don't require a paid membership in Dave's Garden to participate. My subscription has lapsed, although I will probably renew it sometime next year. I will show a few more of my home hybridized zinnia photos.

More later,

ZM

Merry Christmas, ZM! Yes, it is me. I only check in here occasionally now. I'm glad I did today as your blooms get more and more beautiful every year.

Evelyn we moved to Garden.org. In the Sandbox under DG rescue or something like that.

Hi everyone,
I guess we all have pretty much moved to Garden.org. In real life, I am moving from a farmhouse to a "city" apartment. (The owner wants to sell this place.) My zinnia breeding will be very much scaled back if any at all. These closed-end tubular specimens are some that caught my eye in the last year or so. I am wondering if I will be able to grow zinnias in an apartment. I plan to give it a try.

ZM, that fourth photo is fantastic. I hope you can keep your seed supply fresh while you wait for new gardening opportunity.

ZM ~ We are missing you. How are you settling in your new apartment? I am sorry that you are giving up your zinnia breeding.

See you in the Annuals Forum.👍Evelyn🌼🌼🌼

Hi Evelyn,

I am thinking about growing a few zinnias here in the apartment, but there isn't much room here, inside or outside. I had essentially unlimited space in the farm garden, but most people don't have that, and it is only fair that I join the ranks of "most people". See you over at Garden.org.
