I have some small Rose of Sharon plants that my mother pulled out of her garden. I have them in containers at the moment because I actually want to save them for the spring rather than plant them now. Can I keep them in a container indoors over the winter?
Rose of Sharon
Yes. Rose of Sharon go dormant in the winter so keeping them in a garage will probably be fine. Remember to water them. I would plant some now (because if you have a long fall, they will establish and do well) and keep some for spring (in case you have the winter from h....l).
Daisy
If you can plant them now, they will survive the winter. Also, you can keep them outside in a container over the winter. If you keep them in a garage, depending on how low the temps go in there, you might mess with the plant's dormancy cycle. My garage is unheated but attached and ranges from the low 40s to low 50s over the winter.
